Ridiculous. Who is going to reign this in? ... so one or two nasty terminations end up in court and businesses are going to start going under. There needs to be a sensible approach to termination pay that respects both the terminated employee and the employer who is trying to maintain a going concern, many of whom cannot afford to pay out in the hundreds of thousands of dollars for employees who were not performing.
