I purchased this jacket last year. It's the most insane, versatile, and great motorcycle jacket for daily wear ever! For off-road, I put my Mosko Moto Surveyor jacket over it, and I'm set. For the street, I use the Klim Marrakesh jacket and I'm off to riding. If it's super hot, I can wear it alone!

Thanks for doing this video. It will be helpful for many in the years ahead. Just wondering how much the original unit weighed? I'm trying to figure out if the weight savings is worth it. (Cb5oo hornet). I don't think it looks too bad but I've added so much to the bike which already weighs 188kgs stock, so thinking this and the exhaust have to go.
@AgentCodyBikes3 күн бұрын
@@G-Man01 Hey man, i can’t imagine the stock tail being more than a few pounds in total. It’s really just some stamped sheet metal. So you’re saving probably a pound or two at the most unfortunately 🙃 but the exhaust will definitely help you out more with weight savings.

I purchased the Knox Urbane Pro Mk3 in July 2023. I’m a weekend warrior and I’ve put less than 40 hours of use on my jacket when the cuffs began to fray. I wrote the company directly as well as sending photos, to which they responded , that the frayed cuffs were a result of repeated abrasion from gloves, or likely wear from the Velcro closure on gloves. They said that they would not replace the jacket or refund my money. I was disappointed to say the least, particularly when “abrasion resistance“ is the company’s advertisement lead. Clearly, the material used at the cuffs is flimsy at best, and inconsistent with the durability of the rest of the jacket. I pride myself on taking meticulous care of my equipment, and for the company to suggest that the use of gloves on a motorcycle jacket caused this premature wear and damage is ridiculous and outrageous. These companies have a captive audience as well as regulatory capture to inflate their prices, and to advertise an abrasion resistant armored shirt that is now literally falling apart at the seams after less than 40 hours of use is shameful.
@AgentCodyBikes14 күн бұрын
I understand how this can happen. I normally wear a full gauntlet glove with this jacket so normally do not have an issue with the velcro on the cuff, but on the more rare occasions where I do wear my short cuff gloves I have observed what you are talking about. It doesn’t affect me much personally due to how often i wear the short cuff gloves but i can imagine the frustration with consistent use and seeing the material get more and more fuzzy. I am surprised they responded that way and didn’t offer some form of compensation, even if it was a discount code for the future. Seems like a design flaw that maybe they can improve on with the MKIV version? Thanks for the comment, definitely a good point that people should be aware of.

Do you still think you need a size small? My palm size is 8.5 which Dianese's size chart states is a medium, but if you are closer to a size large (guessing 9"?) and think you need a small, I feel I should get a small too
@AgentCodyBikes2 ай бұрын
I just remeasured my hand and I’m snug at 8.75 inches. So if you are the same as me or a little smaller then I would agree. Size charts are all over the place so it’s really helpful to try on when possible. You can also order from speedaddicts.com who have free return shipping/exchanges if you’re concerned about getting stuck with a glove that doesn’t fit perfectly.

Just a quick question: is the stitching on the inside or outside? I bought Rev'it gloves without realising they were on the outside and they came apart unbelievably quickly so I'm looking for something far more durable.
@AgentCodyBikes4 ай бұрын
Majority of the stitching is interior, which for some is a pro and others is a con. Some claim interior stitching/seams cause discomfort on the fingers but I have not had an issue with these personally. No glove should fall apart that quickly regardless so I’m sorry to hear you had a bad experience with the Rev’it.

Honestly not as bad as you might think. I would say high summer heat you’re definitely feeling it, I have another set of textile gloves that I use in those situations which are more easily washed. Based on your excellent review I bought a pair. I thought I needed a large but wound up with a Medium. Pinky finger has a less than 1/2 inch of excess at tip but other fingers are fine. Snug fit overall and needs a bit of effort to get your hand in initially but that could be because my hands are still a bit swollen from my last crash. : )

FWIW - I wish EVERY motorcycle glove came with a connector between the smallest two fingers - not like anyone sticks their pinky finger out on a motorcycle so why not protect the smallest finger from being torn backward in a crash?

Thanks for the feedback 🙏 and I 100% agree. So few gloves connect your ring finger and pinkie but I feel like that should be a standard feature. I can’t imagine it would make a huge difference comfort wise so why not just add it.

Thanks! I would say if you’re maintaining significant speed then the gloves won’t be too hot in those conditions. If you’re in stop and go traffic at 85 degrees it will definitely get warm. They aren’t the most ventilated gloves around for sure. If possible I’d recommend a dedicated summer pair, I have a pair of REVIT Dirt 3s that I’d use in the hottest months just to keep the Oultons from getting too sweaty. Good luck with your choice!

From a self-professed Glove-o-holic, outstanding video! I feel your pain on excess flappage with straps, so here's my pro tip: on all my gloves, I take them to my local leather goods/repair shop. It's a family run business that focuses mostly on luggage/handbags/shoe repair. I pay $30 per pair of gloves, and they stitch extra Velcro into the glove (the sticky, not "furry" part of the Velcro). They do it so that it appears seamless, and although your tight for space between where your Velcro ends and the ginormous ulna protector begins, it looks as though there's some surface area where it could be done. Call around and see if you can find someone because it's worth it. The best, most protective gloves on the market can't do their job if they come off in a crash. Thanks again for the video. Mad respect for your safety consciousness!

@AgentCodyBikes10 ай бұрын
Unless your jacket has zero stretch and is super tight on your bare wrist, I’m confident it’ll fit underneath. It really is minimal/low profile so you should be all good. I say if that’s the only thing holding you back then pull the trigger and enjoy them! Thanks for the comment.

I'm in LA, too, and just like you, want a gauntlet glove. Fantastic video. Well done. I THINK I like the RSR better; it's longer, although slightly less protection. I like the longer style, but you say the Cayenne is more substantial and has better velcro, so I have to go with the Cayenne being a better glove as far as protection. But the feel is important, and with the longer style, I have to go with the RSR.
