And it's appropriate to accept such challenge (especially when they're friends and there should be some affection between them as well). That's how their story should have ended. At least in this episode. That is, Sheldon should have helped her... because she obviously needed help. That would be the logical and ideal conclusion (however, Sheldon didn't even try to help her). The main problem is that it is a prequel and cannot develop in this way..
