Beautiful fish lads, well done! Good to see you using an unhooking mat but just be careful of the fins in the net. Might be worth getting some proper “pike” gloves to stop the cuts to the fingers if you are not 100% confident handling them. Great action though, tight lines.

it was the biggest pike my mate had ever caught and I've been fishing for pike longer than him so that's why he looked not as confident. I tried to help him as much as I could.

You can target all parts of the canal round the basin but just not the basin due to them doing works on it.

The float is an avon style river float. Black spots on the fish are disease but it doesn’t harm them really.

Hi there, I fish it very regularly but it's gone quiet for a few weeks. A few of us think it's because of all of this hot weather. There will probably be a new video out in the next few days about me fishing a forgotten pond so make sure to check it out when it comes out. Unfortunately I haven't had any carp out of the canal, there is a scarce amount of them and I've only even been snapped off by them.

Yes it's just before a lock gate and on your right hand side there is a couple of patches of grass where there isn't a peg that are quite big and have been flattened down to make space for rods. Hope this helps.

On The day I decided not to bring them because in previous sessions I had no luck. This was obviously the time to catch this beast! I knew it was definitely over 20lbs.

I’m so jealous of European perch. In the US they are pretty rare that big. Probably close to our state record. Good catch 👌

What a special fish! Nice work. Keep fishing and keep making videos 🎣 I'm no eel expert, but next time you land a decent one, try placing a wet cloth or towel over its head, as this usually calms them down and lets you unhook them a bit more easily 👍

I didn't end up catching it but before the bite I saw a decent mirror carp at the surface and swam towards where I placed the feeder. it then literally swam and started feeding in front of where I was fishing and figured it could have been that.
