I sat next to Manute at a bar in West Hartford Ct. When we were pulling into the parking lot, he walked around the corner of the building. All of us said at once "that's Manute Bol" because who else could it be?

9:50 I do think there’s an argument for Magic at #1 and this is a good one. That said every time I watch Larry’s highlights and passing highlights I just think he’s just a better basketball player. But then I watch Magic again and think, but wait Magic is… Magic.. and then I’m conflicted again. Then I watch MJ Historic Bulls Mixtape and am forced to admit that He’s the guy. He’s not Magic, but he’s the beat basketball player who ever lived.. despite his team coming up short against Larry.. but then there’s Wilt. If you’re standing in front of him.. and he’s standing in front of you.. he’s scoring and you’re not. So ya I’m confused as hell.

Larry Bird is the Goat. the reason Bird is the GOAT can be summed up in 1 play. game 4 of the 1987 finals against the lakers. Bird launched a last-second shot from the left baseline, expecting it to be a game-winner. However, the ball hit the rim and bounced away, securing a 107-106 Lakers victory. the reason this play was so important is because when he fired that shot everyone including the other team thought he was gunna hit it too. Magic Johnson is famously quoted “I was under the basket, I had seen it coming over and then straighten out and I thought it was going in. Then I said to myself, ‘Oh my goodness, we’ve got it.’” the fact people were surprised when Bird failed in those clutch moments is why he is the GOAT; he made us expect greatness. no one else has done that.

The shot over the backboard. I know Jordan, LeBron, Kobe, Clint Capela, and Avery Bradley each pulled one off in NBA play. I am not aware of any others. If someone knows of another, please let me know.

On you question about prime Larry Bird vs prime Michael Jordan, remember Pat Riley, coach for the Lakers said if he had to pick a player to make a shot to win a game, he would go with Michael Jordan, but if he had to pick a player to take a shot to save his life, he would choose Larry Bird.
