The producers boasted that this film would appeal to more than just "8 year olds", thereby insulting the fans of the first film. From the Rock Biter's "they look like good strong hands" speech in the first film to this fiasco, I would say the trilogy definitely went downhill. I don't even like calling it a "trilogy" since there really is only one film anyway that never ended.
