Why do people hate on the music for Classic Sonic? I agree they aren't as great as the tracks for Modern Sonic and the OC (Lost Valley and Moonlight Battlefield just to name a few), but there are some good tracks for Classic Sonic's stages

I cant say puttinf classic sonic in the game is a sin by itself, but they really needed to do it much better for it to work right. First of all, if you completely remove him from the plot and just say Tails went rogue after Sonic was captured it makes zero difference. Second, the OST, holy shit it has zero personality, especially compared to the rest of the OST, probably the best overall in a Sonic game. And I don't think I need to mention, the controls and levels suck. It feels like Classic Sonic was added at the last minute

I like the moment at 5:17 where it looks like that pool of water is being contained by pillars, it’s a neat way of using water on upper paths. I feel like a whole Zone could be made with that as its gimmick.

A perfect culmination of speed, platforming and exploration. The level design is long and winding with slopes, ramps and alternate paths to account for sonic's speed. Speed is gained through gaining momentum in a natural way without automation (speed boosters) and you're free to go anywhere you wish because the levels are open enough to do so. All these things give a sense of agency to the player and the moveset is accessible to both pros and new players. Truly amazing. Sonic's animations are so bouncy and squishy and his running looks so natural, even when moving at top speed. This game has great potential.
