No haha, the lighter is just to pop all the tiny air bubbles before I cure the resin under the UV light :]
@Monetmadnessstudios5 күн бұрын
@ lmao I’m glad I asked, I was running to get my lighter lol 😂 but it’s good to know it pops any bubbles!

how do feel that glue works for the magnets? i feel like theyd pop off after a while?
@brittanysalzone19 күн бұрын
I haven't had an issue with them coming off. I've been using one of my own for over a year now and it's still fine! If it ever did come off, it would be really easy to super glue it back on :]

Hey. I love love love the clay pieces! I like to make clay art myself but my biggest struggle is with designing them. I just feel like i could never come up with a perfect original design. seeing your art and very cute and interesting pieces, I had to ask how do u design them? what helps you?
@brittanysalzone2 ай бұрын
Thanks!! I try to think of themes or subject matter I like drawing, and see if I can translate them into a clay piece that isn't too complex to make! I like to make a ton of sketches first, so I can see if the design would work well for the intended clay magnet/pin. A good design that has been well-thought out makes for a easier time actually making the clay piece!

wow your prints are very beautiful! What printer do you use?
@brittanysalzone2 ай бұрын
Thanks!! I use an older printer model, it's the Epson Artisan 1430. It makes beautiful prints and can print up to 13x19 paper! They do have a newer model but I'm not sure if it's the same quality or not :]

I love everything you made! I made a bunch of salt dough Christmas ornaments when I was 18 years old and gifted a set to my Mom. She still puts them on the tree every year and even though I am 60 now, they are still just like new, lol. I am amazed how well they held up over the years. I think I need to make some magnets now, lol. Those Grabie markers look really nice. I have a set of their watercolors and like the bright colors.

Nice! I'd really recommend making magnets, it's fun to make all different things and have a cute looking fridge! I really enjoyed the Grabie paint markers too :]

An idea: Instead of three slashes you could put the numbers on your swatches for future use. Thanks for sharing the video.
@brittanysalzone2 ай бұрын
Yeah! So I actually did write the numbers that were on the caps, onto the swatch sheet. But like I said there are duplicate numbers, so it doesn't really help much. I'd recommend just numbering them 1-28 instead and writing that down on the swatch sheet if you'd like! I really wish they had an easier way of labeling the markers, haha

Loved your video! Can you share what you used to hold up the pin when you put it under the uv light. I looks like a piece of cork or something. I am looking for something to hold the pin while I am painting. Thank you.
@brittanysalzone3 ай бұрын
It's a piece of a wine cork :] I cut them in half or thirds and stick the pin into it so I can hold it better while painting and curing the resin!

what did u put on the wooden things to stick to the clay to put into a uv lamp
@brittanysalzone3 ай бұрын
Hiii, I just used small pieces of a kneaded eraser(the grey thingy) to lightly stick the clay to the wine cork(the brown piece)! The kneaded eraser is reusable, so when everything's done, I just collect it all back into one bigger ball of an eraser, haha.

here in the philippines, we also have quite a similar dish as this one but we only call it, sinabawang tahong (mussels with soup/sauce) instead of white wine, we use water or lime lemon soda drink! garlic and ginger. soo tasty with vinegar, garlic, shallots and salt dip.

Dusting corn flour onto the clay stops it sticking & doesn't affect the clay at all 😊 I especially love the cats 🐾

Thanks!! It's just acrylic paint :] I usually thin it down with water or fluid medium! But I often have to do more than one coat of each color because the paint becomes more transparent since I thin it down. I've found it creates a smoother texture if I use thinner paint :]
