02:23 it would have been better to say to him keep looking right and left, it’s very important to know what is going on in both directions while emerging out of a side road. 🙃
@Prepare2pass-drive2 ай бұрын
Yes good point Wayne, …. we covered the right / left combination observations in the briefing, however at this stage he can only do one effective observation which is to the most important one to the right, rather than rushing to look both ways and not really seeing anything, I do of course do his left observations to keep us safe, in his next video we will be slowing him down to the point where he should be able to check both ways without rushing….. what we are doing is constructing a “multi part” sequence one small piece at a time 🤔
@WayneTulip-zm9gw2 ай бұрын
I understand what you’re saying sir, he looks like a very new beginner in the very early stages of his learning so I understand why he’s only able to do 1 observation at the moment, I hope my comment didn’t offend you, by the way, you seem like a brilliant driving instructor, firm when needed but very calm and very reassuring. 🙃
@Prepare2pass-drive2 ай бұрын
You are correct, at this point Taran had around 15 minutes of driving experience it was his first time driving…👍

Great video again. Can i make some observations so you can give me tiyr thoughts. From the beginning you used te terminology "bite point" i wonder at that point she understands what that even means ? Unfortunately i didnt get to see the brief at the beginning. Obviously alot of direct instruction here needed which you did very well with great patience. Ive been looking at incorporating more open questions into my lessons. Even in the early stages ive noticed that the pupil gets more engaged. Draws more about their personality knowledge etc. Has the pupil asked for manual as it looks like it will take akot more inout from you. The word cover your brake and clutch, i wonder if she understands that terminology. Ive been thinking up different terminology for instruction's.
@Prepare2pass-drive2 ай бұрын
Yes the pupil is always made aware of the terms (with demonstration) we use during the initial briefing , however whether they remember them during the lesson is another matter,

Thanks for your comment Jacob, we all have different teaching methods so stick with it and if you feel it’s too much too soon…. Tell your instructor, remember it’s always about what’s best for the student, good luck 👍

i had my first lesson yesterday too! You seem a lot more steady paced than my instructor, he had me drive from the nursery road all the way back my campus when I really wasn't ready 😅 I stalled on a busy roundabout. I think I would have rather had a first lesson like this one haha.

Another enjoyable watch. I really like your calm relaxed patient approach to the pupil. It really does show that early in the journey of pupil a good amount of positive instruction is required untill you can slowly make it more client centred.

Hi Lee,I believe it’s a Tom Tom go, I meant to say it’s the same brand as the examiners use, I recon any Tom Tom would do the trick as they are pretty much the same format 👍

@@Prepare2pass-drive hi and thanks for your prompt reply. Yes I googled it last it says a tom tom start 25. I'm shortly starting in my PDI licence mid may so looking to try and match test conditions where possible for the pupils. Enjoy watching your videos, especially as I worked as a truck hiab driver at the b&q store in derby for a few years in 2019. All the streets you drive all coming back to me

Hi, I was wondering if you'd be interested in taking your KZbin content to the next level with high quality video editing and graphic design for thumbnails. Just the increase in these 2x things will make you stand out from the crowd attracting viewers that could be potential leads for whatever service/digital product you plan to sell. Let me know if you're interested, Tizzy Studios.

@@Prepare2pass-drive your welcome. As you are probably aware there is a good number of KZbin channels on driver instructor training, however I'm not aware of many that use this approach of using short 30 second clips. It's strange to say but I tell my pupils to watch those dash cam footage videos of poor drivers as it shows to people learning what other road users will do. Ive done some similar video footage like yours on my KZbin but have kept them in private till I think how I want to present them. Ps I'm from stoke on Trent so not far from yourself.

Must be derby esp peartree or sinfin. I use to drive a delivery home delivery lorry in that area I use to mention the problems at junctions etc to community support officers. D police officers when the car was causing an obstruction. They took no action .it looks like they fear backlash from the local cllrs who happen to be the same demographic and religion as the vast majority in those areas causing the problem.
