actually those are really cool, called a Photo Sensitive Detector, when activated allows you to change the frequency pitch by the level of the surrounding light. I will mess with that soon!

Very nice! How is the sequence done? I see it running 5 steps but hear 16 steps instead? Is it the arpeggiator?
@Heavycap4 күн бұрын
Actually the Solar 42F has multiple sequencers, you have the 5 step physical sequencer which you pointed out but you also have a 16 step internal sequencer and also an arpeggiator which you can access using the center little screen at the bottom. you can also split the keyboard into 2 so you can technically have 5 sequencers in total. Here I'm using the 5 step on drone 1, 3 and 6, 6 is actually muted during this play. for the main melody I'm using the internal 16 step sequencer where you have a lot more control on setting the notes.

hello! this synth is great. I haven't checked the info about it yet because it's the first time I've come across it. huge potential. do you have any information whether I can get it as just a VSTI plugin for the FL studio platform?
@Heavycap25 күн бұрын
Hey, yea, its a really cool synth, but this is a very custom and special build that Elta Music designed here, the only thing along the lines of a software version or vst style trying to emulate it was done using VCV Rack 2 Pro, just google vcv rack solar 42, but even that isn't perfect and not as intuitive to use. I also started with a daw and vst's but let me tell you, once you buy your first hardware synth, say something like a Solar 42F you will not want to go back to software full time, the playability is unmatched, having the ability to use both hands and the physical aspects will have you in a different creative state, its not something you can replicate with a mouse in this case.

@Heavycap2 ай бұрын
oh yea, I was looking at the voltage lab 2 as well when making the decision, very cool synth based on the research I did on it. I will at some point for sure get one. however my decision was easy after the research, the voltage lab 2 scared me a little because with that one you really need to know your stuff, I don't think it will even make a sound without patching it. maybe I chickened out for no reason but I think whatever you decided you can't go wrong with either one. I think voltage lab 2 is the most hardcore current synth I've seen!

I guess u are no beginner like I am. But I love the sound of the synth and really thinking about getting one. Previous I owned a Monologue xd and use diva regularly , do you think the Solar 42 is a Synth to grow with or is it so much its own thing that you need experience to use it correctly ? Very sick Jam!
@Heavycap3 ай бұрын
Hey, thanks, the Solar 42 is actually my first synthesizer, I just started my journey with music last year September as a hobby, got Bitwig Studio and some vst's to start but now getting into hardware, there is something about the physical interface that I'm really enjoying. You can definitely grow with the Solar 42, it's very much an experimental music machine and you don't have to be a professional musician to use it.
@wusulu-yc7sl3 ай бұрын
@@Heavycap Wow! That makes the jam even more impressive what about the tuning of every single osscilator ? Is it a hustle ?
@Heavycap3 ай бұрын
@@wusulu-yc7sl for this session I only tunned 3 out of the 4 drone voices to the keyboard voice which was playing the 16 step pattern I put into the sequencer. I just tuned it by ear, and really this something I'm learning right now, its probably not perfect, I just listened and tuned until it sounded good. I will do a tutorial on how I tuned for this track at some point, just busy time at my day job right now and have zero time. 😢

@Heavycap3 ай бұрын
thanks, the Solar 42 has actually 5 sequencers, you have the visible 5/4/3 step but you also have access to a 16 step sequencer and arp through the little menu system in the middle of the touch keyboard. Then you also have the option of splitting the touch keyboard into 2 separate keyboards and then you can use a custom sequencer or arp for each side. I'm going to mess with that in some future videos.

I was also trying to get a 4 chord progression going but only managed to tune voices 2, 4 and 5, lol in my last video i didn't even have the infinity fx loaded on the right channel, I just figured out how to do that now.
