Thank you for sharing my two best cities in Africa. I enjoyed my visits to Asmara and the people and friends I made. But Massawa was my greatest treat to visit because back in 1984 - 1986 when I was in Eritrea, the only place a young 20 something could relax all night was Massawa. There was no curfew there.

I left Asmara in 1964 after being transferred from Kagnew Station to Germany. This presentation brings back so many great experiences in the city and the country. Many of the famous buildings and roads seem unchanged. As an 18yo I had so many false ideas what Asmara and Africa would be like. I was so surprised the moment I arrived how wrong I was. Asmara was a slice of Italy and Africa in a modern city. The people were incredibly friendly and helpful. I bought a motorcycle so I could tour the country and what I found was life changing from the local religions, customs, food and history. I traveled alone and never had any problems. I was approached multiple times and invited into peoples homes and offered hospitality. When my bike broke down once a truck driver stopped and helped me load my bike and took me to a local mechanic, then invited me to meet his family. The city was safe, clean and was an incredible fusion of Eritrean and Italian foods, architecture and customs. May Eritrea find its way to freedom and prosperity.

Unfortunately this how Eritrea at all treated her people those who lifted to find better life but when you get it you back to miss your home land to come as someone has not been in this land before everything changed even your family even your nigbhers your friends.. I left it at 2005 till now I'm living with hope to back and I'm sure it's not that place I left it but I have to back and live my childhood life alone

@I remember when the vote for independence took place in the 90’s that Eritrea would prosper and grow as it had many resources lacking in other newly independent countries. It is a shame that the government became a totalitarian state and deprived its people of a bright future. Governments come and go, but the people will be there and when the time comes for change, I pray they have a voice in their future. I can only look back to what I saw and felt at the time when I was 18yo. I hope you find your peace and place with the world.

21 Two peoples were driven out of their lands and arrived in America. The Jews who produced powerful men who rule America. And black Africans who only produced James Brown, Martin Luther King, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Mohammed Ali, Pele, Bob Marley,... Black slaves in America were never the type of the Jews in Egypt. The Jews believe in the prophets. The Jews did not exit from Egypt with the negro spiritual, gospel, boogie-woogie, praise break, soul music, R & B, jazz and reggae. The independence of the African countries and the abolition of slavery and racial segregation have brought nothing to the blacks of America! 22 If the black man is not the symbol of evil, why has his heart never turned to the true God? In Israel, receiving blood from a black man is as bad as eating pork. And I say: Amen to that. And I do not condemn a white man without Christ who refuses to give his daughter in marriage to a black man. The black race is the cradle of racism and evil. If the blacks were in the place of the whites in America, all white Americans would be exterminated as in Rwanda. 9 And because of sin, God has caused many cities and nations to fall in ruins. Through fire, wars, floods and plagues, God blotted out their names from the earth. But why black leprosy on Egypt? It was thus to fulfill the curse of Ham. Thus, fire did not come down on Egypt as it was the case with Sodom and Gomorrah but a black leprosy. And because of the whites who captured them and castrated them to make them slaves, they fled Egypt. Thus, the dwelling place of the black man was no more found amongst men. 10 And this escape, it was God Himself driving blacks out of Egypt. And the black man's dwelling place was the bush with animals and his memory was forgotten. He was wandering here and there. And later, in 622, the army of Mahomet began to search for them in the forests and then the biggest slave trade towards the Arab countries began. And until 1964, for 1400 years, the black man was the best merchandise of the Arabs, the black diamond. And the Arab-Muslims captured up to more than forty million blacks with the help of black Africans like Samory Touré. And there were the European colonizers who had put an end to that and the Arabs never forgave it to Europe. The blacks captured were deported to Egypt, castrated and transported to Arab countries where they died without memory, without descendants, without history, in bondage and in atrocious torture and sufferings. Just as they captured black migrants in Libya in 2017. And a black man named Bilal was one of Mahomet's black slaves, he was castrated. And it was God who gave the Arabs this right over the black man.
