Thanks for posting this, it brings back nostalgic childhood memories! Every summer our big family vacation was driving from Toronto to Chicago to visit dad's side of the family. We took this route more times than I can remember. Always loved the section around Chatam where the electrical towers pass over the highway and the one tower runs along side the highway for a few kilometres. Sometimes I'll put some music on while watching this, occassionally I use my exercise bike while watching videos like this. It's like I'm cycling down the highway passing cars on my bike! Have to take this trip again sometime.

This was filmed in January 2022. Jump ahead to 2.5 years later and there is no one wearing a mask at the mall.

This mall was opened in 1981 and hailed as a supermall. It actually did have more stores than any other mall in the area. It also attracted major retails chains. Rents are still high for retailers and the owners take a percentage of sales from each vendor. The payoff is there is a steady stream of foot traffic. Over the years retailers have come and gone. Eaton's left after bankruptcy in 2001. Sears closed a few years ago. There are fewer food court vendors than in the past. There were six record stores when the mall opened in the 1980s, with one remaining today. There were four book store, but one remains. Overall however the mall has remained stronger in customer base than other local malls. There is near full occupancy at Limeridge Mall, and you can find almost anything you want.

I still miss the water fountains from bygone eras past . The structure of that mall was duplicated all over the place I wander if there are still any buildings left in use with the original lay out and aesthetics even if they are 30 + years dated it would truly be a blast to see it as i was back in the day again .

I actually took this method home this past Sunday, what a walk from the Kipling subway to the bus loop. I imagine it took Columbus less time to cross the Atlantic. It was a lot better and not as far a hike when Midway was in Islington.

The only unfortunate thing about taking a GO bus is if you need to use a bathroom. That's why I take the GO train even though it's a longer travel time.

I rode this train for many years and it was a glorious ride. In bad weather, heavy snow, extreme cold and the burning heat of summer, I was thankful I didn't have to commute into the downtown core. I was so comfortable on a few occasions I slept through my stop in Bradford and I had to take the GO bus back from Barrie. In earnest and now in the 2020s the line should be extended all the way to Orillia, with all-day trains including weekends. I remember when Bradford was the end-of-the-line and 3 trains sat overnight plugged-into electric generators. Thank you for the video.

I was actually on that bus back on May 18, 2023...using this route! The stop we made was at the Stanley Avenue-Highway 420 Park & Ride (52:33)! Near the end of this video, the red bus which was ahead of this bus was the bus we took from the Niagara Falls Bus Terminal (58:25) to Toronto!
