Some hairy moments in there. I don't think I'll ever get over how quiet they are 😅 I don't notice as much at the time, as I listen to music, but when watching back it's always surprising

Yeah, I only have myself to blame for the 2 spins at turn one 😅 they are weirdly quiet and you really notice when rewatching the race.

It’s been a while since I’ve been but I can try. I was braking at turn 2, 5, 8 and 12 I think. The rest are either full throttle or lifting. Hope this helps.

I only killed the same kart 3 times ha! It didn’t seem to like when I pressed the accelerator haha! Kart 8 seemed to work well in the BIKC Finals though. Must have fixed it.

Yes I did need to use the brakes a few times around the lap but there are plenty of corners that you can just lift or take full throttle.

Tried it Tuesday 23rd but only level 3 (Tokio drift meets Max Verstapin ice racing). 1st 2x15 minutes I felt devastated bouncing rear end off all the tyre walls and wondering what am I doing plus met an out door karter and his daughter who hated it. So I took a break (plus bacon bap from barman Jake) to get my head around the whole idea and just get my mind together. "Thought this can't beat me" Went back on exclusive time with lad from Liverpool track and mastered it. Though not politically karting correct style totally different to driving petrol. My style don't touch the brakes, start turning in way before brain says to turn in and I left track planning another visit end of June. Only managed 41.44 seconds. (and didn't spin once). Been back and got it down to 37.8 sooooo another visit is onthe books next month.

@@MBKarting55 Blimey my 1st go at attacking Warrington I felt like I needed my Mummy, ha ha ha. 2nd 15 minutes and punishment was managed. Booked to do another session in couple weeks time. It has to be done as part of our Teamsport training, if we can get around Warrington the other tracks are a walk.

Did Warington 1st time in March, thought help I want to get off the track, ha ha ha. 2nd 15 minutes decided I need to come back get on it learn the racing lines and stay out of the pot holes. I was a bit slow 1st time 63.2s. Revisit and got it down to 61.4 but I guess I should have come up years ago and lived locallly so as to hit 59's. Sad old track is being changed and electrified.

He definitely over took during yellows and 100% over the course of the yellows easily got 10 seconds on you during that race where he wasnt slowing down as much as you, along with the fact everytime there was a yellow you somehow got stuck behind someone haha. I actually just sat here and watched that entire video while i was chilling out looking at car parts, was a good watch mate, but you won that race if there was no foul play!

Yeah, it was a shame I was only a tenth off qualifying first for the two heats which would have given me a big advantage for the rest of the races. Still, to finish 4th out of everyone without any practice I was happy with.

Thanks, I was just on holiday and always try to get a karting session in. I won’t get to practice there for a while lol. I use a GoPro Max which comes with helmet mounts which I have on my personal helmet but I just got lucky that the rental helmet that I used had the same mount on it. The mounts that come with the camera are very sticky and once placed on, they won’t come off again so you’d need your own helmet or to ask the staff for a helmet with a mount. Hope this helps.

I think the driver in front of you never really slowed down during the yellow flags. They could never have extended their lead by that much since your pace was better.

Thanks, I did notice them overtaking at least one person under the yellow flags and when I was behind him he was making a lot of mistakes. I seemed to get unlucky with the yellow flags getting stuck behind back markers and then the others catching up to me after gaining a gap but sometimes you get unlucky 😂

just wondering as I'm a avid Karter myself at this track, why do u go wide out of the fast left hander on the top floor? ive found if u let off the accelerator once you've hit the apex of the corner and then get back on the accelerator less than half a second later and hug the barrier/tire wall to the left, it cuts off I'm sure like 210thenths of a second off my lap times. what's your best lap time round here?

Hey, I tend to stay on the accelerator from the ramp until the sharp hairpin on the top level and find that I carry more speed if I take a wider line. I do try to keep it as tight as possible. My fastest lap is a 59.754 which I unfortunately didn’t record after having to swap helmets mid race ha! What’s your fastest lap?

I haven’t been since this race and with the cost of everything going up it’s expensive to get there while living about an hour and 15 minutes away. Preston used to be my closest track but unfortunately that closed. I might be going again on Sunday morning for the 40 lap race and to set my first qualifying time for the BIKC.

Yeah, he got a flag about 2 laps before me for the same thing. They said after that in a members event, either we would have been seen and given the space by others or not black flagged cause we had made the pass, but because we were racing people who weren’t as experienced then they wanted to calm us down.

@@MBKarting55 I know what you mean, there s bit more involved with an accident in one of them. Once you've got a bit more comfortable with them you build confidence and push that bit more. It's surprising the difference once the aero parts come alive and you can go faster and faster. I did an event at Silverstone in single seaters, aero dependent racing is a weird experience as they're a complete bucket until they come alive.
