I’ve recently started shampooing, deep conditioning, and rollersetting weekly, sometimes more (twice a week) sometimes less (14 days) and my hair is doing sooooo well. Def think washing more often (but not too often) and drying completely has made my hair a lot easier to manage, and i still have my curls. After a workout i sit under the drier or use a paddle brush and drier to stretch my roots out and it works so well. I’ve been giving myself about a month each quarter in twists (before a professional trim) to give my hair a break which helps my hair to curl back up…and I’m gonna stick with this routine bc it’s been working!

Wow, thanks for this rundown! I love that your hair is flourishing, an excellent tip about that paddle brush + dryer to stretch your roots. I’m taking notes! 👏🏽

Cosmetologist here: there’s no such thing as “heat trained” hair. You have heat damage. That’s it.

Exactly 😂😂 I be so tickled with the term heat trained. Heat denatures proteins (in the hair) causing them to lose shape. Over time it get damaged. That’s just science.

I love being a straight natural! Nothing against being a curly natural but I have a very sensitive scalp and my scalp is painful when my hair is in its natural state due to how thick it is. Also, I found that I was experiencing way more hair breakage when my hair was in its natural curly state. I take care of my straight natural hair way better and omg my hair has grown so much and I do the bare minimum: washing every two weeks, doing my own blowout and silk press, trimming my own ends. The amount of money I’m saving just from knowing how to do my own hair is amazing Edit: I feel like a common misconception with heat trained girls is that we use heat in our hair ALL the time. I at most apply heat to my hair 1-3 times between washes. My hair is able to stay straight and because of this, I don’t have to use heat in my hair multiple times a week << this WILL damage your hair quickly
@Erikasway_Ай бұрын
@@listellareloadedxx8090 I love to hear this! I remember the days when the natural hair police told everyone straightening your hair was damaging, but it’s honestly THE VIBE now 😭. And you’re so so right about it being a money saver. Thanks for watching!

Would love to see a video on how you maintain your style for the gym. I finally changed my style to straight natural for the winter. I don’t realized how much dead ends I had - when it was curly. Thank you for this video.
