love me tenderとは懐かしい。はっきり覚えているが、67年前の昭和32年高田高校の火災で、校庭にテントを張って不寝番をしたことがあったが、その時誰とっもなく口ずさんだのが、この曲だった。実に懐かしい。誰が歌っ ていたか、有名な米国歌手だが忘れてしまった。

Namu Amida Butsu! I have a small question. I have been a Jodo-Shu Buddhist for 3 years now. In the teachings of Honen Shonin, He seems to always recommend to only chant the 3 Pure Land Sutras. In the 5 Right practices the exclusive chanting of the 3 Pure Land Sutras is also stipulated. But I have noticed that in Jodo-shu the Heart Sutra is chanted sometimes. Why is this so? And in what occasions and for what reasons is it appropriate to chant the Heart Sutra?
