Thanx❤, I hope I can transform my French V2 into V3 like this!

Excellent informative video! I'd been curious about the French box. Harley Kitty is a precious little soul! She was worried the mouse would get away and ya'll wouldn't have anything to eat! 😄

You Prime the Minis before you Base them. Alot do. Why? They will look Amazing!
@fiftypluswargamerАй бұрын
Thanks for watching. Sometimes I base the models first then prime, but I haven't decided yet on how I want the basing to look so I'm holding off for now. Also, I may get some of the Geek Gaming Scenics basing materials which make it easier, rather than gluing sand, painting etc.

That Necrotic Flesh works really well with the 'dip'..... may use that for my DAK Veterans/engineers to show faded uniform compared to the regualr Army Green.

Magic Juice is great! works better with some colours than others, but still - really helps.
@VioletMoonMediaАй бұрын
@@fiftypluswargamer I prefer to use the single shades rather than mixing, use soft tone for pretty much everything except bare steel - which I use Dark Tone for as it seems to give a slight gloss finish.

Off to a good start..... it loks like the stats on the card won't be changing much, other than any MMG on the Char B1s. Will need to add a command vehicle for the Armoured Platoon, this can be as small as a field car or Panhard AC, if you don't have the points for another Char B. Just finishing off my Afrika Korps force, as have a tournament in London in September, then bringing into line with V3 for a tournament in Sandiacre in November, then have an early war German force to work on, so may see you across a table sometime!

I remember that KOW tournament..... it was a tough fight for the wooden spoon! with the germans, dont forget the 251/10 with the light ATG as the platoon leader's vehicle. 4x4 works well for 500-1000 points, I'll be building a bigger table once I've built the Shedquarters if you ever fancy a game/batt rep, I'm still quite local

Good video and enjoy your painting, iam doing Warlord epic ACW and i use magnifier eye glasses called Vision aid, they really help to see the small figures well and best of all they don't fall off your head when you look down 👍🎲
@fiftypluswargamer3 ай бұрын
I use magnifiers as well, but I've found that on the Epic scale, gorgeous as the models are (just put together the war elephants from the free sprue with Wargames Illustrated 439), it's just too small still for me. I'd be battling the models instead of enjoying them. 28mm for me!

Love the Camo effect.... looks exactly like period photos - people often forget that this was done 'in field' by the crews themselves, often using household mops to apply the paint. Perfect!
@fiftypluswargamer4 ай бұрын
Cheers for that. I think it looks better than what I did on the Panthers, with the change in greens, and having a light drybrush over the whole model afterwards seems to tie everything together, something that works great at 15mm, but was a little unsure to try on 28mm (1:56).

Looking great JP, inspiring me for my next army... Still using the old AP & Dip method, but might try the spped paints soon! (just finished 750pt SAS army for the Warlord D-Day tournamnet and working on an 1100pt DAK army for the August GT)....
@fiftypluswargamer4 ай бұрын
Again, thanks (Jason?) I wanted to try something new (big supporter of block colours/dip method myself) and it's still very much a learning curve. A few times I've considered selling the speedpaints on and just getting the Fanatic range of acrylics instead, but forcing myself to keep on this for the rest of the year at least, to give it time. Adding a "clean up" stage of neatening up between colours with matt white does slow the process down, but worth it. Watched your video on your SAS force - looks great. Were you at the Warlord event yesterday? I meant to pop along but got side-tracked with a new Flymo arriving.

@@fiftypluswargamer Hi JP, Yeah, it's Jason from the Foundry..... Had my first games of Bolt Action in 10 years at the Warlord Event yesturday.... Lost first two games, won the third, overall an excellent day - even if I didn't win the Wooden Spoon!

Amazing. Doctors have advised husband, to her back to these model building. Maybe with your help I can help with the art and crafts painting and dioramas o recall from his parents home like my bothers. The smaller the harder? Subscribing ty♥️
@fiftypluswargamer4 ай бұрын
I think the smaller the models, it is slightly easier to paint as you're just going for a representation of the colours and for the mass effect of how they look rather than the individual model. I'll be getting the new Epic Hail Caesar 15mm Romans/Catharginians next month so will show what I mean with a few videos about painting smaller scale models.

Thanks - Still learning how best to use Speedpaints to get the proper looking uniforms for the time, and just got a few of the olive and tan Fanatic range for ease on applying highlights. I might do a future video on how I actually paint a model if I can figure out how best to do it. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment - much appreciated.
