I don't think those would fit. 70% of 295mm is 206.5mm for sidewall height. 206.5mm (top sidewall) + 206.5mm (bottom sidewall) + 431.8mm (rim diameter) = 844.8mm. Compare to 285 70R17 of total height of 830.8mm. That's a full 14mm difference. I can barely get the tip of my finger between the hitch and the tire, which is the limiting area. Even with pushing the tire as far forward as possible, I don't think it'd fit. If you try it and it works, let us all know. Otherwise, it's a good reason to get a steel bumper with tire swing out arm!

I used 20 year old Judy Butter in this video, because that's what I had on hand. Ideally, you'd use White Lithium Grease or Silicone Grease to reduce attracting dirt and debris.

Very nice video. What are the bolts spacers for then? because I see them slide in the sluts all the way in. Will 2 washers 1 normal size and 1bigger work better rather than the spacers? Just curiosity
@sunroomstudios84872 ай бұрын
The spacers do serve a purpose. The brace holding the transmission up has recessed areas for the bolts. The recessed area is not large enough to accommodate the shield, otherwise the shield would have to be narrower and weaker. I wouldn't use washers, the spacers do a great job getting the bolt head out of the recessed area to allow the shield to hook onto. With thinner metal of a washer, even stacked washers, it's more prone to deforming. You'd also have to use stainless steel washers to prevent rusting. You could use washers if you had to, but I think the spacers are high quality and would really try to use them instead of washers.
@geronimopascuale9208Ай бұрын
@@sunroomstudios8487 I was thinking that, I have not seen the real space on the braces my self but I saw the spacers sliding in. Do they rattle inside or not the spacers or they get tight once all is wrenched tight? I just receive my kit and will installed them once I have a good weather day. I appreciate your info, advice and concern.Thank you
@sunroomstudios8487Ай бұрын
@@geronimopascuale9208 Once everything is tightened, everything fits snug and there is no rattling or movement. Even nearly a year later, nothing has loosened. So glad I got these and don't have to worry about it. Good luck on your install, let us know how it goes!

@@sunroomstudios8487 I just installed my kit last Sunday and it went very good. I did not have a 13m deep socket to tight the nuts because the new bolts are about 1'' longer than the OEM ones and because it was Sunday everything was close in my area, I had to use extra stainless steel washers to finish tightening.another thing is that I use the 2 security bolts in the front of the brace and rather than 1 on one like in the video and I did not use the jack at all but I notice a heavier 1/8'' clearance but all is secure. I think the jack will have made it tighter but at the same time it will change the original shape of the brace. Just my opinion. ahhh also the driver side rubber bumper did not quite align with the under chassis/body of the truck but it's in perfect place and does not rattle because I put a heavy undercoat protection to the under body of the truck. all in all am very happy with the product. Hope they make for the Toyota Tundras as well and defiantly will order. Cheers
