How long did it usually take to start on freezing cold mornings? Did it take longer when it hadn't been used for several days?

Either you have low compression or you are not pulling hard enough I would dump a little oil down the cylinders and replace the spark plugs I had a 1976 arctic cat panther that did the same thing but when I did that it ran fine and I still am driving it today

If you would have feathered the throttle while pulling it you could have got it going easy

I think you need to drop the crabs and take a look at them i think they maybe need cleaning since it's been sitting for 10 years. You should always drop the crabs and take a look at them. Before you start any machines that been sitting for years.

First off, camera guy needs to STFU. That alone is irritating as it ever could be. Second of all, you two need to learn to do things properly. Checking fluids, first of all. You don't just pull the dipstick out, look at it, and stuff it back in. You won't get an accurate reading that way. For engine oil, pull the dipstick out, wipe it off, stick it back in, pull it back out, read it, stick it back in. For transmission fluid, the vehicle is supposed to be running and in park with the engine warmed up to operating temperature, dipstick read the exact same way as the engine oil dipstick. Your jump-starting also leaves a lot to be desired. You're supposed to start with the 'dead' vehicle, as follows. Red cable on the dead vehicle, red cable on the starting vehicle. Black cable on the dead vehicle but NOT on the battery. This will create sparking and can ignite hydrogen gas that may be produced. You want to connect that lead to a sturdy piece of metal away from the battery, like a strut tower or on the engine block directly. The other negative cable is then connected to the starting vehicle's negative battery post. Before attempting to start, you're supposed to let the starting vehicle charge up the other vehicle's battery. I'm honestly surprised it actually started, and that you didn't burn up the starter. It's also not a good idea to rev the crap out of a cold engine. Let the thing warm up, for pete's sake! Ugh; it wouldn't surprise me if this was falling on deaf ears.....

These trucks were New when I was a kid. My dad first bought a '57 Chevy which I thought was ancient at the time. Now these are older than the '57 was at the time. lol 'Life happens when you're busy making other plans' -- Paul McCartney was it? One of the Beatles anyway. So enjoy yourselves! : - )
