came here to hear what mine might sound like once i finish my engine replacement and my new UEL,i have the quad tip TRD exhaust though but i believe it might sound similar. ill post a clip once shes running. edit, she sounds fucking awesome btw i truly hope thats what my 86 sounds like

What are your thoughts on lightweight pulleys with a lightweight flywheel now that it's been a few years?

I actually removed the lightweight pulley a few months after I made this vid. For day to day driving, the rpms drop way too fast between shifts and it makes them feel a lot more rough. When I swapped it back, my gf noticed it immediately the first time we went somewhere. Short version: I don't recommend combining the two

Alex Dixon Thanks for your input. My goal is a daily/race car. So there have to be compromises and you have to choose between comfort and performance sometimes.

@@PSIRockinOmegaget a lightweight pulley and keep your stock flywheel until you start making more power (150+ over stock). Then i would upgrade to a lighter flywheel, sell the lightweight pulley and purchase a fluid dampener

Best sounding BRZ/FRS/86 clip yet out of all the ones I've watched. Perfect balance of bass, treble, and that UEL Boxer dual tone. This will definitely be the setup I go with, thanks for the high quality soundcheck.

Alex, how much cabin drone did you get with this setup buddy? Have a very similar setup to you except for stock overpipe and frontpipe, and an AVO 2.5" resonated catback with no drone. I was wondering if there was a lot of drone with this setup here?

+NOR CAL I cant' remember if I had a CAI on it at the time, but it wouldn't affect the noise you're hearing. That was a borla UEL with a TRD catback.

Ricardo Lo yeah, the flow just opens up more near the end. If you have a 2.5" cat back and 3" fp and op then that's not very good for backflow

I'm thinking of doing the turbo also but I'm starting with all the cheaper parts first so I want to get the tomei uel header and perrin 3 exhaust but I don't want to buy the header and down the line not be able to use it with the turbo will I be able to use it that's my question

Albaro Mayen According to AVO's site, the turbo is designed to fit up to the stock exhaust (and intake in case you were wondering) so any aftermarket header back exhaust that would fit on the stock engine should fit with the turbo. But it looks to me like the turbo kit replaces the header from the pictures I've seen. I'm not an expert on it though.

That license plate is confusing me. 86 is a Toyota thing and it's weird seeing the Subaru badge and BRZ on it. I'm aware they're the same car though.

From Engine to tip it goes: AVO Turbo -> AVO 2.5" Downpipe -> AVO 2.5" Overpipe -> T1R 2.5" Straight through Mid Pipe (no cat and no resonator) -> Perrin 3" Non-Resonated Catback Winrar Whiz

Hey bud, love the setup you have here. Question - did you get a tune for the BRZ after putting on the headers and is that recommended? Did the headers flatten out that torque dip?

Actually, I moved over to a turbo setup before I had a chance to do any of that. However, Headers+Tune will absolutely get rid of the torque dip. I'm using Delicious Tuning for my turbo setup and would 100% recommend them for an N/A tune too

IMO this setup sounds one of the best for this car and i've listened to dozens of exhaust clips on youtube. Do you drive this car in snow? Thinking about getting one. I live north of Toronto.

Nah, i'ts a summer only car. I know a few guys that drive theirs in winter. A good set of winter tires and you're good to go

Nigel Hutchinson Nice man! Hope you like it. I decided to keep my CivicSI instead. I test drove a FR-S and wasn't too impressed with the power. My SI is about the same. I'm now saving for a 2nd car. Maybe a Mustang.

The car sounds amazing, man! Just out of curiosity, I know you're running 7-8lbs of boost, but how much power are you making? Is there any drone inside the cabin when you're cruising? Definitely making me want a BRZ and doing similar mods to it, haha.

No idea on power right now, but I'm estimating about 300hp at the crank. I'm going to get it dyno'd once I have a few little things sorted out.
