I had a good teacher when I was a child, but before going to him I played drums open hand, and the first thing he did was make me start playing crossed handed like the majority. But I really wish he never did that as I feel there are benefits to open hand dominancy

**SORRY, WITH AROUND 30,000+ HOURS, I TELL EVETONE THE SAME THING (and never had a reasonable reply) practice practice bla bla, is the 1 and only 1 way to become a good Drummer (with flow). Like a lot of drummer's who claim to have that "Pro's Secret" to Break that Bad Habit or Strengthen your weak hand or Just whatever else they are trying to sell. Just Practice, Play to a LOT of Music, and Focus. But most of all, have the Time of your Life with your Kit.

Most of us play first and worry about the money second. This is a dank way to look at a career in music, go work in a factory instead.

Not sure if you read these Jacob...but..... here's what you do so well. I have had three instructors over the last 7 years. I'm not at the standard I should be. I stopped going to the last instrucctor beacuse every week he would show me what to do. And every week it was just another 4 grooves to learn, week after week the same. Sixteenth note triplets were covered once which I liked, but I wasn't really shown how to use them. I have said for a long time "I want someone to show me HOW, not WHAT. " How to imropve my kick technique, how to build speed, how to use rudiments flowing around the kit, how to use accents and dynamics. You are one who talks more of HOW. Good job.
