After coming back to this video, I noticed a misunderstanding about The Amp, by Milk man. In your video, you mention how it can be difficult to get a clean sound from it because it has break up. What I noticed from your settings in the video is, you have the Volume turned up more than the Master. This will give you intenteded breakup. However, if you want a clean tone, the Master is turned up much higher than the Volume. I have my Master up to about 2 o’clock, and volume at 7 o’clock. Crisp and clear sound - no break up.

Is it just me, or does that first song sound like an early version of Alvin Lee? _Even the guitar looks like his Gibson (Big Red) before he found all the stickers._ You guys should play McMenamins Edgefield is in Troutdale. All their places are dedicated to the 'Dead'. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iqrXoKdvrN6prposi=uXR-vfpEstyfulk1

3:10 Fender Twin I don't know why this one wasn't included in the Chapters links but here it is. I couldn't let it slip since this is the amp that I actually own out of all that are reviewed here in this video.

cool band....... good guitar :). ( between you and me, the PA is really lacking...... maybe your next band memeber should be a permanent sound man...( or woman)..... the guitar solos are not out front and need to be louder, and the drums softer..... maybe a compressor before the final outs..... i only say this because i am diggin your thing..... you prolly need sub woofers too, for the kick drum n bass guitar re-inforcement.... ). i am a sound freak,

I’ve played a Mesa Mark I for years, but just ordered a Milkman 100 after trying one. For me, I’ve always loved the sound of the #1 input that goes through both preamp sections on the Mesa - even clean-ish, it has a marvelous bite. The Milkman with the boost on does the same thing - fat without fizz. No, it’s not a pure Jerry tone, but I’m not Jerry and I like a smidge more crunch.

I love watching people putting together Jerry Rigs. Awesome job! It’s even got that look to it. That wood does it for me. And the Alligator guitar. You rock! What is that piece on top of the twin? This is really awesome sounding!

I own an SMS and i used Twins for about 20 years before that. This is my favorite amp (along with my ART SLA-1 power amp into 2 x e120s) that ive owned. Unreal the tone i get. I have tried to like the Mesa amp here, but for some reason i just cant seem to dial in a happy tone for both rythym and lead. I keep walking over to adjust the eq over and over again. Drives me mad. But ive played with and seen others that dont have this issue. I think its just my dynamics in my picking attack and playing overall. I loved my Twin's but they were too loud and heavy after 20 years. I have a few videos of some of my gear on youtube if ya click my account info. I just got a Travis Bean 2021 TB1000S Pan Back (Black) this week. ;-) My current setup for live: SMS Classic Tube Preamp (JG Mod). ART SLA-1 Power Amp. Custom 2x12 cab loaded with JBL e120 speakers. Ive been using Wolf clones for about 9 years. I have a video of these as well. Id been using G&L guitars before that for Dead/JGB etc. Nice wall of amps. I have something along these lines. But I sold my Twins and a lot of my other amps. Now im just down to 8 or 9 amps now.

That Yamaha sounded great, and the milkman too . . . You’re a damn-good Jerry-riffer - and that may account for a lot of the great results you are getting 🎉
@justin100542 жыл бұрын
For me I think it's a toss up between the Milkman and the SMS. I think the Twin would probably be my favorite if you were in a situation where you could really crank it, but let's be honest that situation is hard to come by these days.

crank up the master volume on the milkman and turn the preamp volume down for a loud clean sound, you have the tube volume cranked up and the master volume down on that thing, thats why its breaking up at low volume. if you want it really loud and clean put the preamp volume at like 10 or 11 o'clock and put the master at about 3 or 4 o'clock
@IronPig_75 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for posting that. I was wondering why the master was set so low. I have the 50w milkman and it's plenty loud.

I hear mid 70s jerry for sure. I like the Fender Twin... brighter top end. I like your commitment to the pursuit of pure tone. Some people just don't get how important it is to get the tone right when playing this music. The gear can get you pretty far. I'd rather hear a bad player with good Jerry Tone, than a brilliant player with a poorly considered tone when playing in a Garcia context.
