That is one of the issue with angling here in PH, most anglers dont practice catch and release.

Can I recommend some tips? You should not put the fish in the bag or cooler straight away. With some species like the Australian Salmon, it's highly recommended to bleed it first so it tastes 100% better. Also please buy some long nose pliers. The amount of inexperienced people trying to get a treble hook out of a big Salmon and then I see the hook going into their fingers is countless lol. Also if you're releasing the fish, pliers just makes it better so the fish is less injured/stressed in the unhooking process.

Try flattening the barbs on your trebles. You won't lose any fish and they are much easier to remove from the fish. Oh, and your fingers😂
