Just purchased a mckenzie FX1 in a 10’ #7 for Stillwater trout fishing. Can honestly tell anybody reading this it’s by far the most capable rod I’ve ever cast. Short medium and long range in one blank. Great flex and feel but with the power in reserve to punch out a 40+ sinking line when it’s needed.

The dead give away to the design flaw is how you're holding the reel rotated so that it does not hit the underside of your forearm. Visible at 1.10 mark and again at 1.55. This rotation means you're not casting in line with the spine of the rod. Ugh.

Super late response I have one of these and you can definitely use the spine of the rod. He just has his on style of casting

TERRY BLUSH yes it’s a copy but that looks more realistic and it may have a better sound. I got the 135 today. I will see how it works when the ice melts in 5 months . I’m itching to throw this thing

the more recent trout shad is very badly made as I've lost five new ones in one day they are been ripped apart on my first fish.. I've older ones in which I'd 10-15 pike on which I use as I cuddnt afford to keep on buying new ones..

I went to Bass Pro Shops today and bought two of these in two different sizes in rainbow trout pattern. I have yet to use them.

max Forsey man I tried catching bass with the it and nothing for like 2 weeks I got pissed and went back to other baits...after a while without using them I took one out, tied it on my line, and BAM!!!! It got swallowed by a 13.3 pound striper and the same month caught about 7 bass. I never caught a striper that big. The biggest bass was 6 to 7 1/2 pounds. My scale was off a bit.

I've bought my at Fishermanspartner in Munich :) I've got one with 80g in this yellow color like in that movie .... a bit to heavy but i've got nice results with it. I don't know the official price, but i have payed for my 15€
