Why do people in the international education industry have such a difficult time saying the word "teacher"? Who is this "talent" you speak of? Certainly not the actual teachers, who for people in this industry are just an annoyance to be brushed aside as they scurry to placate the real talent, the parasitic agents and "recruitment partners".

We're referencing higher education with these comments. The talent war being referenced is over the international educators who manage the international offices on university campuses that care for the hundreds of thousands of international students during their stays on campus.

@@smieconsulting In your video you're clearly referencing recruitment offices. In Canada, before students start university, they are often obligated to take ESL courses in schools with "pathway programs". It is disingenuous to separate the two as if they are disconnected. Teachers at these schools often make below minimum wage when you factor in unpaid but expected hours, and people in your industry do not want to address this exploitation. It's always not in your purview or out of your mandate. It's always someone else's responsibility. Your purview is always the more respectable part, the "higher education".
