I took this video in spring, April 11, 2024 - They are so cute, they would pick out a flower around 5pm and lay down inside.

Looks like I got incomplete information from the entomologist I consulted when I made a movie about petting sleepy bees. He told me that I would see them late in the season, that they were males who had matured enough to leave the nest for good in order to mate with females who would start a new nest the next year.
