So, before ETOS I would have my OLTC+motordrive+TAPCON on one side, and a transformer monitoring system on the other, and now I can do without the external transformer monitoring system since ETOS already has that functionality, is that correct?

Yes, this is correct. ETOS®is the central control and monitoring system for the transformer, which bundles all necessary functions in one system. In addition, the complete secondary technology can be integrated in ETOS®, eliminating the cost of a separate cabinet. ETOS® uses proven components from the TAPMOTION® ED for the on-load tap-changer drive functionality. In combination with the actuator technology for cooling, ETOS® performs the basic control functions on the transformer. It can be understood as a a “can” but not as a “must”, as ETOS® is flexible it can be designed according to your individual requirements. Dear Sir, in an existing transformer an exchange is not possible, for a new transformer the winding design has to be revised for this. Usually (exception: Power Transformers on the technical limits, e.g. high end HVDC Transformers) OLTC design follow the transformer design.
