Can't believe this amazing set turns 4 years old next week!! Still feels like yesterday going wild to it with one of my besties :D And I have to say it: Transatlantic Communication, Predictive Memory, No Name and Paris Nice Cannes should totally be released with extended mixes to celebrate 25 years of Rank 1 this year 😄🙌🏾

Top Gear was originally an untitled tune for their Trance Energy 2005 act but the response to it was so massive they decided to release it over the summer of that year. I think they even made Opus 17 afterwards, so the EP had a more "Trance friendly/typical Rank 1" release on the flipside, given how raw TG was. :) To anyone that enjoyed the untitleds, LET RANK 1 KNOW! Let them know on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, KZbin, any soc med channel you find them on! MAYBE... Just MAYBE it will prompt them to release some of these! :) UPDATE JULY 31st 2020: The previously untitled tracks have been named and released on Spotify today as part of the live act! I saw your fan blog, thanks for that :) - Have always been really disappointed the Benjamin Bates "Surprisingly" track was never released. Saying its not all about the money but for the appreciation of music would have been a good reason too cause I think it is one of their best ones. I tend to love musicians who have a classical background (like myself), the melodies can be incredible haha. Rank 1 literally is! <3

@@jopmens6960 I agree! The track captures the essence of both duos in their earliest days... That Marco V/Bates groove is irresistable and the Rank 1 supersaw euphoria just plants a smile on your face! I find it a bummer they leave gem like that to collect. That's just how it is though, Piet and Benno are SO laidback with their music bizz haha. At least it's easy to find the sets with these rips online these days :)

What an amazing live act... I was impressed with how they opted for a bit of a megamix approach, as evidenced by the seemless blending of EON's breakdowns. No vocal overkill, no "emoshunal 3-minute breakdowns" nonsense, no monotone festival noise: a proper, full-on Trance-driven live act that was basically a History lesson on Rank 1 Classics. :D They kept the energy going from the moment the first drop hit, venturing into Tech Trance and Techno here and there to add some extra spice! The new 2020 untitleds were amazing and infectious, as was the new rendition of the two untitleds from 2017. It might have just lasted 30 minutes but for me they bested iLan, Markus & Armin. 0/ Rank 1 = #1 Piet & Benno, this was the 4th time I've seen you live since 2009 and it was the best so far...
