Great shots. Back in the 1960s this was a fabulous place to holiday or get off the train and straight on the ferry to Calais - a lot of characterful buidlings appear to have disappeared, or been replaced with new not-so-characterful buildings

For fair and safe working conditions , rest breaks, toilet access, reasonable temperatures, safety. the driver’s cab on many buses is sweltering in the summer and ice cold in the winter ! 😔Lack of facilities for drivers to take a rest break between shifts- and shift patterns add to drivers stress!

Trip on the Yorkshire Belle -highly recommended! Sounds like Sam Richardson skippering.

Oh! You know Sam? He’s a good commentator and knows everything by heart. Yes, it was Yorkshire Belle
@orgelmeister25 ай бұрын
@@TheUnfrequented I'm more familiar with Sam's father, Peter. And if you've been on the YB a lot, (on one of the 'standard' cruises) you should be able to recite the commentary more or less verbatim! 🤣

On a rainy day in summer 1980 I cycled west along the coast .... to find myself surpringly in a dead end road at the nuclear power plant I never heard of before. I had to turn back for some miles. Before I had a cup hof hot chocolate at the cantina of the power station. A separate building. Not many people in it. The whole thing was a strange experience.

I used to be able to see a slice of Gherkin when sitting on the toilet in my flat, but then a load more buildings went up very quickly 😕

The newer ones are getting less and less interesting too.. The original design for the Pinnacle was amazing
