Hello Heinz, I have just watched your post that is now 3yrs old, but have a question that i cannot get an answer to here in Australia. I run an RPM1.3 Genie and have done so now for 10 years. This entry level TT never fails to please me with its sound reproduction/performance and beautiful design and i have considered it worthy to carry out the following upgrades, Ortofon Blue, Speed Box2, Cork platter mat, Vanden hull interconnects (Thames), Custom Hi density base board for better isolation. All of these upgrades have added to my listening pleasure, but as us music lovers do, we are always looking for that little bit more and i have 2 questions for you. 1. Is there an Acryl IT platter option. 2. Is there a tone arm upgrade option Any assistance would be much appreciated.

There's not too much of a difference, a little more integrated RCA sockets and a different bearing block for the tone arm and a different platter but all in all not a huge upgrade over the original Evo.

I purchased a Debut Carbon Evo at the end of 2021. It sounds good but is terrible in terms of quality, little more than a toy. Just a few months after the warranty expired, and used no more than 3 or 4 times a week, the motor started making a distinctly audible noise. This seems to be a common issue, and I later discovered that it’s discussed on various forums. After a few more weeks, the motor stopped working altogether. Customer service told me I would have to buy a new motor and replace it. Pro-Ject is anything but pro. A big disappointment.

I absolutely love your turntables, especially this one, but the perspex lid is awful. I think the bevel on the front and rear look dreadful, I'd much prefer a square shaped lid like you have on the basic tables. It actually puts me off buying one! I'd even buy a new one if you offered it as an option.

I've just ordered my Pro-ject T1. Eagerly awaiting arriving. As a young one, my father handed over his turntable (rotel) along with Rotel amplifier. Aiwa tape deck and JVC tuner. Why the hectic I opted for a Crosley Suitcase as my first adult choice escapes me. After seeing product suggestions of Pro-Ject, I instantly aimed at upgrade. Unfortunately, my missus decided to surprise me with a Jam turntable and speakers for a Christmas gift. Instantly recognising the cheap Crosley mechanism and dreaded built in speakers, I knew that I could not make regular use of this set up. The Jam Bluetooth active speakers are okay, but have too much bass. I have waited 3 year before taking my step towards purchase of T1, as not to offend my wife. My vinyl collection is almost at 100 count, and 80% or more have yet to have been played as fear of damage to quality. Finally, I start my own adult build, will never meet my late father's Delphi Oracle with Kef speakers set up, but I aim to build an impressive entry-mid level sound system to enjoy.

Hello. I have a question please. Should the spindle in the middle of the platter spin with the platter? I just purchased an a1 automat project turntable and the spindle in the middle does not turn. That has a result of a wowing effect because of some vinyls' tight hole touching the spindle. Can you advice me?
@SPEAKERSR3 ай бұрын
The thing is I purchased some lps that have a bit smaller hole than other and when I place them on the platter they need a bit of a push to sit on the platter. So when the turntable begins it needs a push for the platter to spin ane then the rpms are not steady due to the fact that the disk hole touches the spindle while rotating. I took it to the reseller in Cyprus and they told me that this is how it is made. Any advice? Is it that how it is made? Please help me

Just when I had saved up enough to get an Extension 9 EVO with a S-shaped arm, they took those arms off the market for 5 years. I was then forced (much to my ire) to get something else. And now the arms are back!?!?! Pro-Ject SUCKS!

@@mitchparker7652 You'll hear people say belt driven is "quiter"...in direct you can hear the motor...but probably most people don't hear it or just imagine that they hear it. Not saying that some don't on some turbtables...but they placebo effect themselves into thinking that they do. And if they pay huge amounts for something...you know they gotta defend that huge cost. I have the version with the previous s-shape arm and have been very happy with it. It’s excellent value for the money. Back then it was advertised as having strategically placed metal balls in the chassis. I’m curious if you changed this for this new version? Also, is the Power Box RS Uni TT a worthwhile upgrade to this, if the board generates new AC anyway? Thanks!

I was and i am still fan of pro-ject, i had few, but sorry for final i choose Thorens TD 1500 because of sub chassics) anyway your turntables are fantastic!
@elCaxi19713 ай бұрын
TD 1500 is my dream/next turntable. I´m thinking of pairing it with Pro-jects DS3 B phono stage in order to use xlr output with an mc cartridge. My 33+ years old Bang&Olufsen RX2 (also sub chassis) has seen better days :D Have you got Any regrets about the TD 1500 ? Are you using xlr cables ? and mm or mc cartridge ?
@Bess2163 ай бұрын
@@elCaxi1971 Hi. No i am using stock 2m bronze and rca cables. Sound is fantastic, really. Like there something, Thorens sound character in all records. However, yes technically this turntable is not perfect, i mean motor and optical sensor stabilization, it take around 10-12 seconds to reach 33.33, when you start it accelerates to 39-40 rpm, then in 10-11 seconds slowly going to perfect 33.33, it works but if sensor see that speed changed for example 33.31 it increase speed again to 33.33 increasing wow/flutter to 0.2% for few seconds. So obviously if i had enough money i prefer TD 1601 with classic motor.

@@Bess216 Thank you very much for your reply ! I am planning to have a demo of TD 1500 next month at a local dealer, so i will get to see how it works in real life :) 1601 is too expensive for me too, especially with the new TP 160 tone-arm.

What cartridge do you recommend as an upgrade?
@michaelb96643 ай бұрын
Fit any of the 2M series stylus to the Pick It Pro body. The Pick It Pro cartridge body has lower internal inductance than any of the 2M series cartridge bodies which makes it an improvement overall in terms of frequency response. The Pick It Pro stylus however was a strange decision by Pro-Ject with its low compliance it suffers mis tracking distortion especially with loud sibilant recordings. A table of this caliber deserves a much better stylus. Fitting a 2M Blue or Bronze stylus to a Pick It Pro cartridge yields fantastic improvements with a more compatible compliance with the tonearm, great performance from the low inductance cartridge and also gives the best performance per price improvement vs changing to other carts. Moving coil is overrated. It means changing the whole cart when the stylus wears out and also improves the likelihood of increased noise floor from the high amounts of gain required.
