Thanks for the update Del. I will be up around Theodosia around April 1stand was thinking about fishing around the Oakland area . Do you think that would be a good place to start?
@BullShoalsFishingReport2 ай бұрын
Depends on what you want to do ? If you’re wanting to finesse em in the clear water Oakland area. Is generally clearer than Theodosia. Water temperature baitfish location prevailing wind areas close to spawning areas. Warm weather trend I don’t think I would leave the dirty personally. Fish the conditions Have fun!

Hey Del. I’m looking for a full day guide for some big whitebass and stripers. I want to catch them early in the morning on topwater and power fish for them throughout the day on swimbaits and A-rigs. Is that possible on Bull Shoals this fall?

Hi Del, I watched your video on rigging a drop shot, you used a leader. What would be the cons for using only one line ? If I opted for mono, what lb test would you suggest for just a single line drop shot set up? Thanks
@Tbowie138 ай бұрын
I'm not Del, but mono or fluoro on a spin rig, the problem is line twist. I was a hold out for a long time not using braid to leader on my spinning rigs. When I changed, it was one of the best things I've done for my fishing in a long time. You cast further, more sensitivity, no line twist. Anyway, incase Del doesn't see your message, there's my 2 cents. Tight lines to ya! BTW, 8lb fluoro leader is what I use for dropshot. Thin enough to catch weary fish, yet strong enough when you stick a good one.

What he said 100% it will seem like a pain when you first start but you won’t ever go back. Thank you guys appreciate you.

Hey Del, I'm an infrequent fisherman on Bull Shoals (but have some property i bought a few years ago and will spend more time there in the coming years)so I have nothing to go by, but I've heard of complaints of overfishing and the increasing number of tournaments, especially all jammed into the spawn season, on Tablerock. Do you think Bull Shoals suffers the same or potentially could in the future ? what are the major areas of concern that you see for this wonderful lake ?
@BullShoalsFishingReport11 ай бұрын
There’s not many places left like the Bull Hope you get to enjoy it. Well as far as growth as of now most people have to drive past other lakes to get to Bull I don’t foresee a problem as long as there’s no major highways and bridges along with no building on the lake front all the these things are what makes it good as well as high water. In my opinion the water level dropping out during the spawn is less desirable than Spring tournament fishing. The Army Core does a great job overall and working with Game and Fish in Ar and Mo and city’s I feel growth “high water accessibility” could be done responsibly at least enough to give the small towns businesses struggling around the lake a good shot in the arm.
@SuperLooneyrooney11 ай бұрын
@@BullShoalsFishingReport thanks for that explanation and i thought the same things - lack of major highways, bridges, keeping number of private boat docks in check-will keep the high growth down for some time. Yes, from the 3-4 years i've seen the lake the water levels have seen drastic changes in levels (seems to have almost no bearing on the overall drought/wet conditions in the area and is totally up to the dam management). it's gotta be tough on those businesses that rely on getting reasonable access to the lake
