Do you use oxygen bleach as a pre wash? Or does the oxygen bleach go in with detergent? Thank you!

All the recipes I am seeing online also call for washing soda, borax and/or epsom salt. I prefer to wash in cold (so I want to melt the flaks I have) and we have really hard water, so I know I probably need washing soda. But is everything else necessary?

Thanks Patric I'll no longer use vinegar in my rinse cycle -- AND per your excellent experience with laundry, I have cut down on how much detergent I use too, you are correct a little goes a long way, and the water is what cleans the clothes. My husband spilled coffee on his mother's new cream-colored carpet. We're struggling to get the stain out of the carpet and out of the (white, of course) towel he used to soak up the coffee. Have used oxygen bleach on the towel and have had no luck. Suggestions?

I’m in the south and we will take whatever is stained especially sheets, table cloths etc and lay it on the grass. The chlorophyll in the grass helps remove the stain by fading it in the sun on the grass. Kind of neat.

Will this work with a week-old red wine stain?

Would the soap flakes be best for Microfiber cloths? I think I'm suppose to use simple soap to wash them.

The 100% oxygen bleach I bought several months ago remains grainy and doesn’t dissolve readily when I combine it with, for example, an oily soap. Even in warm/hot water. Is all 100% oxygen bleach like this or did I somehow get a product that isn’t acting as it is supposed to?
