I did this dive late last year. So glad i found this video to remember parts of it. Ill never forget the 2' wide crab I came upon by entering one of the lower openings where a flashlight was mandatory. I was sure it was the same boat when I saw the three toilets, which I sat on. Cool video

is anyone else having an issue where the Whikey app doesn't work? I've downloaded it and I have the latest OS for man (Sonoma 14.6) but the app itself does not seem to work on mac at all

yeah dude I'm on 1.1 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 Sonoma 14.6.1 n it downloads but when I click on the download it just says that "this application isn't supported on this Mac" :L lmk if you have any luck When I try to run BDG3 as is, the game will load up to 100% then crash my Mac before showing the main menu

Hi there! Supposedly tmr will be the day the official mac version being released, will we be able to transfer the save to the official mac version using the manual transfer shown in the video? I am hoping the optimisation would be better, now I am at Act 3 and it is almost unplayable with the lag, especially the conversation during the coronation.

Yes for sure. I think so as I do it when I go to my PC, time will tell for sure but before it worked with the betas as well.

I noticed in your display settings it allowed for different resolutions. For some reason on my M2Max Macbook Pro 14' it only shows AMD compatibly display adapter, any idea why? Also it seems it does not work with online features since Steam can't be open. But this is still amazing guide, thank you!

Tried a whole bunch of other methods before stumbling upon this one. It doesnt seem to work for me: when I close steam, and go to Run--> bg3_dx11.exe nothing happens. Furthermore, Steam just keeps opening randomly no matter how many times i close it. Do you have any advice on this?

Hi, I have run these steps up until "run" exe when I do so, nothing happens, I have tried "open C drive" but I do not seem to have one. Do I need to create that myself within the file path?

I created my own drive_c and I can now see the files saved in there, but still not opening the exe when I click on it. I am on a M1 and running Sonoma latest version. I cannot tell when I am doing different to you except that since this video there has been a new version of Whisky

Great video! I'm wondering why do we need to do a layer of transformation when BDG3 could be play natively on mac? I tried to play the native game on mac but for some reason the cloud saved files are not recognized in the mac version of the game, even though the saved files are right there in the folder.

It's because it's still on a prerelease version for macos, really hoping they'll release the full version for mac soon

Hello, well this is only temporary as they will launch the final version for Mac eventually. Right now only the latest betas are available, I think it is v9... The saves from final version on PC version are not compatible unfortunately. Cheers!

@@LuisClement Yes, but it's been a long time and they've been far from communicative about it. I bought the game a week or so after release thinking it was for mac and windows and got a bit dissapointed to see that it wasnt. I still was able to play it on my desktop though. This is acutally working insanely well for me though, I can run the full game at max graphics settings at 60 fps! Albeit with fans at max and cpu temps in the 90 celsius range, but still, this is amazing!

Tnx for the concise tutorial. I mean... I've been waiting 2 years to play this game, finally just got some time during my late summer break to spend playing it only to find out that it's not fully released on mac yet! 🫨 ... at least now I can get that itch scratched before fall quarter begins. Here goes to giving it a shot. I will say even with the decent settings it doesn't look quite as good as on PC. Why is that?

For me it does but you need to play around a bit with the settings. For sure if you are running on a PC with a latest GPU I agree the lights and those sort of effects are not as great. Resolution wise for me is not that bad.
