I live in Tucson, Arizona. Are you in England, and are you able to send it to me? I want to make two Roman shades for my bedroom. The windows are approximately 46 X46 inches (116.84 cm). I would have to do outside mount because the window depth is less than 2 inches (5.08 cm). How wide should the rails be, and can you cut them to size? How much would they cost?

I found the music a total distraction and was disappointed you were working on a single piece of fabric as you’ve not shown how to catch the interlining to the fabric going down the curtain, something a novice would not be aware of.

What a brilliant tutorial. Thank you so much. I'm just about to make 2 pairs of interlined full-length curtains using a width and a half in each curtain. Should I do a wide catch stitch down the length of the curtain fabric and the interlining to 'fix' the interlining? My fabric is a cotton/linen mix, so not as heavy as that in your tutorial. Thank you again.

Just wondering why you don't place the lining in under the hems and side hems of the outer fabric the way you do with the buckram tape? Wouldn't all the fabric then drape and move together nicely? I have always wondered why the two have to be separate then hand stitched.
@ymfg90043 ай бұрын
I made the mistake of following the pattern on the edge and top and bottom of some curtains I made in the eighties (in my 20s) only to find at the end that my curtain was off at an angle and didn't hang properly. It was a HUGE disappointment and since then I religiously measure and check and triple check before cutting fabric. I only use a draftsman's right angle ruler to neaten the edge of fabrics before cutting. Shame on manufacturers who produce fabrics that are not straight or have printed patterns that are not straight. Thank you for your wonderful tutorial I have learnt something new xx🌹 P.S. pesky knots ! 😠

Hi Sandie how much do you charge per width to re-line curtains? Machine vs Hand sewn? thanks
@tcbtutorials5 ай бұрын
Hi, I charge £120 per width to re-line pinch pleated curtains. I only do hand sewn bespoke x
@Elv999925 ай бұрын
@@tcbtutorials thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly. I get really confused by what people mean by the width and the drop. I am assuming the width is the total horizontal measurement of fabric across the top of the curtain before the pleats have been gathered, and the drop is the vertical measurement of fabric from the top to the bottom of the curtain? I have a set of curtains with each measuring 5m across (before pleats) with a 1.60m drop each, so would the total width be 10mts £1200? Also what would you charge for 2m x 2m Roman blind?

These tutorials are so easy to follow. I just wondered, as a complete novice, if you could explain how we work out the size of fabric to start with for the drop/width window we have (i.e what allowance to include for hem/seam and fixtures)?
@tcbtutorials5 ай бұрын
Hi Emma, lovely to hear from you! If you allow 15cm for the hem and 10cm for the top, that will be plenty. If you are doing pencil pleat curtains, multiply your track pole with by 2 and divide the with of the fabric into that measurement to establish the amount of widths of curtaining you need. Then multiply this by your drop plus 25cm top and bottom allowances. This will give you your required amount of fabric xx thank you so much for supporting my channel! Xx
