Nothing to do with being lucky Jennifer this money has/is being paid by Tax Payers and being one of those taxpayers from years ago I am only receiving a pittance of what iv paid in tax. The government seem to think it’s their money it’s Taxpayers money and I strongly believe they should be asking us if they can give Our money to overseas countries, or to give themselves massive pay rises, while they own million dollar homes and rent them to business people who can afford to pay huge rents. You have BUDGET at end of your comment I can assure you I budget, my life drastically changed 18 years ago from part owning a home to now paying rent, even although I had a share of my home it wasn’t enough $ to buy a unit straight out so therefore I required a top up and all 3 of the big banks were of no help except to say I wouldn’t live long enough to pay the loan, something I couldn’t understand was i was paying more in rent than what my loan repayments would have been, but this is how the banks operate, if you don’t believe me then give the bank a call. So my advice to you is if you haven’t lived in another person’s shoes then you have No idea what life is about, you just never know what is around the next corner after 34 years of marriage I certainly didn’t think for a minute I would have been in this position none of us know what is around the corner and when it does happen believe me you get kicked where it hurts. Government gives increase in pension but my greedy landlord increases my rent by $20 a week. 🤷♀️

It is worse than what you report. I work full-time and do NOT get one cent in age pension from this horrible pension system. I am 79 years of age. Worst still, the clowns we call politicians have introduced a 2 year limit on my working full-time. If I don't go back on the age pension, Services Australia say my pension will be cancelled?!!! Why???

If anything, i should be allowed to work as long as i like, then given a big bonus age pension for working full time and not being paid even one cent when i do. I am 79 years old by the way. Pauline Hanson has it right. Her policy will allow me to work and be paid the pension.

Unless the Rules have changed and I am out of touch, there are couple of points I wish to challenge. Australians cannot access the Pension until they have turned 67 years of age. And in order to contribute to our Super we have to still be working. So working excludes the Pension and the Pension excludes contributions to our Super. It might be possible if we are still working part time, not sure about that. I would be happy to receive advice if that is the case.

my sister was dying of cancer and cld not work or get aged pension. she died 1 month before her 67th birthday. the point is our oldest brother got the aged pension at 60. it is discriminatory that one child cld receive it years younger than another in the same family.

Iam unvaxed , won't touch pharmies, don't drink , femoral hernia , bone spur in ankle, twisted vertebrae in centre of back , stuck on Centrelink 425 dollars a week , I cannot work full stop , yet Iam unable to find a doctor who could help me get the pension , let alone a doctor whom is unvaxed friendly , cannot rego my car , but can't walk properly either, lost total trust in health system if that's what you want to call it.

This is from a pensioner who is on a budget , politicians should live with a pensioner for a month and see if they can live on that amount,

I think the politicians have rebranded what a pension means..... it is not the same as THEIR pension when THEY retire. They have no comprehension, their whole lives are tax deductions and they get a shit ton of benefits that ordinary people have to shell out for as well as penalties if you do not adhere to their regulations. I am so sick of the control and leeching of our lives by these parasite, selfish, forgetful parasites.

Something for the kids 👍, coz unless you got significantly more than the pension threshold limits, you’ve saved all your life to be rewarded, (by way of an account based pension), that brings in little more than the state pension, and no commonwealth seniors card… Go Albo, who steals from the rich (and the poor) 🤔
