Awsome , you do some amazing work🤙. Love waching every episode, i now have a question regarding the EH, what front end did you use and what stud pattern have you gone to. I have an EH wagon with a 186 and Celia 5 speed but i have an rb30 on an engine stand ready to go in oneday😬. Not looking foward to the work involved.

Thanks mate. Yeah it's been a lot of work. Good luck to you. The front end is from Curley's in Melbourne and we went with a GM stud pattern.

Great work, just wondering will you get air locks in the fuel tank compartments?
@ProShop1
@ProShop1 4 күн бұрын
There is a small gap at the front of each baffles that should prevent air locks Thanks for mentioning it as I didn't.

How did you fit the tap in the outlet? I’d like to fit one in mine. I am going the DIY route and don’t have much idea about these little things. Any help would be appreciated.
@ProShop1
@ProShop1 7 күн бұрын
The outlet was roughly the same size as the tap so with a little thread tape I just screwed it in the hole.

its amazing to see how the old holdens in the dry parts of aussie still have most of there steel.the old holdens didint fear so well in the moist nz climate.my grand dad bought a brand new hg station wagon in around 1968 he still had it in 1985 when he passed away.i have fond memories of that old wagon

@@ProShop1 today I welded up the love bar holes 🕳️ and Torno cover pinholes in my quarter panel one ☝️ side on my 96 xh falcon ute I worked out how to remove the inner support brace panel it had one spot weld in the middle of the three holes for the XD plastic Torno things and I gently removed it from inside the quarter with a panel hammer and sharp paint scraper to separate the glue between the holes anyway I used a one KG copper block held behind the holes and slowly mig welding them up and cooling each weld with air as I filled in the holes I was surprised I got no buckle minimal I worked out because the love bar holes were stretched from people tying rope on em I shaped around them or shrink them on the round side of a toe dolly by hitting in the middle with dolly pushing out on the lows and tapping highs in we’re the bolts we’re holding the bar on like a massage and not stretching the metal with the hammer by hitting the dolly on the high if you know what I mean was fun 🤩 on the old falcon
@michaelbyrnes7944
@michaelbyrnes7944 7 күн бұрын
Easier way of saying it was I tapped the highs into the lows with a toe dolly slight round face hammer . middle of the love bar holes were stretched and around the hole were the washer on the bar was low on top and bottom of the holes from bar being used for a tie off and people leaning on them in a downward direction

as a 17 year old kid up in northern rivers nsw my father gave me a EH ute shell had the rusty floor thing I got as far as oxy cutting the rear floor out left four inches of the rails still attached to the rear inner beaver panel.. I’ve removed from behind the seat back…and the inner sides and wheel wells still intact as with the front floors and tunnel . It’s weird as there’s no rust in the upper plenum chamber roof or gutters sill panels I found a good set of sub frames and found good doors and tailgate at Coffs on marketplace so body wise I need grille bonnet and guards and stone tray so from after my 17 birthday I lived my life as a panel beater and now I’m 45 I found the same eh ute again in a barn on a farm out bush by word of mouth at the local pub in The exact same condition as I left it when I was 17 it’s in my shed now … ANYWAY love your work Pete always look forward to seeing your videos amazing work you do .

Love the work mate. Ive got a HR special I rebuilt love the EH / HR / HK best era. It does look like the exhaust could have gone straight under the diff ? Is that just the camera angle.

Of course the easy way to set the hard top hinges without needing to calculate angles and so on is to just connect the pivot holes with a long rod and that would orientate them how they need to be to work smoothly.
