Could you explain why did you pain't over the characters? They seemed fine, certainly better than anything i ever created. I feel like this whole process just flies over my head.
@eleanor82687 күн бұрын
@@Anastagos few of them were smaller than the other ones and halfway through the process I changed style of face on one of the characters, which looked way better then the other ones so I decided to change almost all of them to match the better style 🥲

You should use a an air tight brush washers for your solvent. It is so much safer for your health and those around you. Plus you will lose less to evaporation.

do you understand now that art high schools are not for people like us? they teach completly other kind of artistic thinking. and they have to. but they just work only with some small part of the thing that is called art. and it is not the plesant thing. it is not for healing happiness or fantasy beauty joy dreams and imagination. they dont teach art as such. they teach the mindset. but we can get the best of it by reading art history and listening to great modern artists. and that is enough. happiness is most important.

Don’t let your instructor dictate your choice of materials. Only you can decide what materials match your inner voice. You do that by experimenting and painting a lot. You will find the materials, the paint and the brushes that match your process best. And then, that will change naturally as you change. The only thing I try to keep in mind is doing my best to use archival materials and methods. I feel I ow it to my collectors. But there are artists out there that don’t even care about that and part of their process is the fragility of the work, that it will degrade or change over time. It’s all what makes your own soul sing! So sing on my friend.

I used to make sculptures with das air drying clay, haven't for a while but I ought to do some more. One idea I was toying with was a pen holder shaped like a grotesque Medusa head. Things I've made in the past include a dragon's head, Egyptian falcon statuettes, a couple of grargoyles, busts of Napoleon and Joan of Arc, a mermaid, a Roman eagle and a and figure of Salacious B Crumb from Star Wars. I tend to make a wire armature to go inside the sculpture, to add strength, and often pad it out with tin foil, as one might with a proper clay sculpture. However with the air drying stuff you can also pad them out with things that you would not want to put in an oven, such as paper or plastic. You could, for example, cover a plastic bowl or paper cup in the stuff to make a container.

I love your art! How was your journey to get into galleries and find customers at the beginning?
@eleanor8268Ай бұрын
Thank you so much! I started doing commissions through family members who told their friends, that changed this April when few of my reels and tiktoks blew up and more and more people started following me which lead to more commissions/buyers. About galleries - my first exhibition was through my art teacher who owned a gallery and last two were through a client i did a commission for who knew the owners of the galleries and recommended me. Another planned exhibitions are also through a client who started a gallery and another one was through one of my art friend who knew another owner of a gallery. And the last one was through recommendation from one of my followers who knew a guy :DD so basically everything was through some contacts, clients etc. 😁

what inspired you to paint about these sisters with different worldviews? i actually really appreciate when people give explanations behind their work, because often a painting might make an impression on you and it's interesting to know why it does, how that effect was _planned_ by the creator, and also sometimes i'm not that great at knowing what to look for regarding deeper meaning in visual media lol (even though i draw myself.....) and it makes it easier for me to learn to recognize it, y'know? anyway lovely painting, i like the implied story behind it and the composition looks really nice.

Interesting idea with the vaseline on the brushes. Presumably it's good for keeping them soft as well as keeping their shapes. Never thought of that. I assume you need to clean it off again before using them.

Good proper painting! Nothing wrong with painting on hardboard, either, I prefer it to canvas. Doesn't flap about, and as you say there's no weave to disrupt the details of the painting. (If you like the canvas look you can replicate it by painting the gesso undercoat in two different directions, with the streaks overlapping at right angles, and not smoothing it too much). The old masters often painted on wooden panels. I'm not sure how board are less elegant, either, if they are framed. Very nicely done figures. Preraphaelite vibes. One thing, I would check the perspective of the bowl and vase at the side. If the viewer, as one would presume, is on a level with the figures, then we should be looking slightly down on the bowl, and vase, and see the elipses of their upper edges. The perspective on the books could also be looked at. Some of the top edges and sides of the books on the lower two shelves should probably be in view, (assuming they are meant to be real books) and they should indicate a vanishing point.

Hi may i ask what brushes you used ?
@eleanor8268Ай бұрын
Damn, I would love to tell you but I use many different brushes, and on most of them there isn’t a brand visible anymore, I usually buy depending on how they look and how often I go to art shop :D (plus I’m from Czech Republic, so most of the brands are local), but I could give you at least a tip, I like to use a lot of makeup brushes. I have a lot of Chinese-made brushes, so they are very cheap but at least for me they last pretty long time (very important is good maintenance)
