I love Susan. She transcends "great"; caring, committed, courageous, sensitive, articulate, and very, awfully funny, Pastor Boyer embodies timeless values while negotiating this often baffling slice of modernity. I regret having moved from the area, I miss Susan and LVCoB - - and I am delighted to be moving back to the neighborhood later this month. Two great church memories: First was the final day of post-services "Introduction to the CoB" classes for us newcomers. When asked what we liked most about our church experiences at LVCoB, many cited a commitment to non-violrnce, others to the church's inclusivity. But I , thinking back upon my many exchanges with Susan, said it was the fact that I never had been asked to check reason and God-given intellect at the sanctuary door. Susan had assured me that the church was strong enough, its doors wide enough, to accommodate my doubts and questions, my fears, needs, and innermost hopes. Susan hooked me early on. The second best memory was one very warm summer morning in... 2012 or '13. Hot inside, my skin moist at 8:30 in the morning. Services seemed late to start, and the natives became restless. Enter Ryan at the piano, playing quietly, smoothly, a tune from my youth. As the sunbeams streamed through stained glass, dust motes bright and floating lazily, the iconic opening bars of "Morning Has Broken" infused that moment with memories of innocence, hope, idealism, and love. And then the magic really began: people started singing. Actually, less individual people singing, and more that of voices joined together in the music, a single corporate voice really, praising that moment's beauty, a realization of our unity of spirit, and a celebration of that single moment in time when spontaneously, catalyzed by Cat Steven's music, we raised voices together and looked among ourselves and felt the moment and were for a time happy, elevated, and content just to be. And that's why I am coming back.

I've been passing by your church often because of the closure on White and each time tell myself I want to check it out (I don't go to church and lean toward Hinduism) and this service today was the clincher. See you next Sunday! And thank you for your beautiful songs and prayers and the best sermon I've ever heard!
