NO right or wrong, I have played be ear all my life, no notes, reading, counting, paradiddle etc.....small town, had so much fun. I listened to the music then played it, worked on timing, tempo, volume, when to go loud when to tone it down etc...hard rock 60's, no tutor or teacher in my small town, my friend asked me to play, told him i never did. it all started there. for 7 years I drummed rt handed. A drummer saw me play and said you are a lefty, I said how did you know? my hands were not crossed, lf hand on hi hat, rt on snare, I now play left, and my hands are no crossed, I feel better playing on a lefty set up. 1 tip: down beat base 2x, then 1x snare, slowly then increase speed, then to the opposite 1x snare then 2x down beat bass. so many songs have this beat. Have Fun on your Journey. just subscribed

Heard that in my Uber home tonight. Ive been a drummer for about 30yrs now. Travis is so effin phenomenal- its a doozy to grasp note for note for even an experienced drummer.. where ya at? What state?

@@patrickoconnor6160 so cool man, that song is such a classic. That’s a long time to be drumming, I’m just happy I can finally get started. I’m in Salt Lake City.

Good luck, and enjoy the journey! I have a lot of experience with the Musora platform, and their content is top notch(though not without it's criticisms)

Why the need to be a dick? Let the dude be happy and share his love for the instrument. As for Albert, you go man! I've been trying out drumeo myself and been learning a lot!

Good choice signing up with Drumeo. Over the last 1 year I've been learning, I've just been using KZbin. It's great because there's so much information on there and it's free but I found myself jumping around way to much. I was so focused on learning new things I forgot about the basics. For example my timing is terrible and that is the most important thing to get right. The last week or so I've went back to basics and I'm working on my timing. Take your time when learning. Don't rush yourself like I did.

Yeah, man! I owned a set of drums in my youth but never learned anything. I wished I would’ve found a guided way of learning earlier. To your point, there’s a lot of free resources (bless their souls) but when it’s organized material I’ve learned so much in a couple of days.

Your set up looks pretty good. Don't worry about getting it perfect. As time goes on you'll be adjusting it to make it more comfortable. I've only been playing for 1 year so I'm definitely not an expert but after moving my kit several times you'll get an idea of what works best for you. And of course, as you're learning you'll realize somethings need to be moved or changed a little bit. The one I could recommend is lowering your ride. Most notes will be played with the tip of the stick. Enjoy the journey and try to stay positive and have fun.

Ah, perfect, nice tip! Yeah, I messed with it a lot the first day. Now I just want to learn to play so I can see how else I can move it. Appreciate it! 🙏🏽
