Didn’t realize this piece had a “Lead Trumpet” part 😅 someone teach that boy how to balance.

Very interesting adaptation. For us, the mexicans, we alway feel that the foreing musicians doesn´t apply these small details of courage and force that we call:sabor. Your adaptation without violins is remarkable, and it offer a new perspective of this masterpiece.

Fun fact: The partitions for Danzon no.2 is one of the costliest in the world. It costs something like 570$ (I forgot the real price, but it is around 570).

There's some nice solo work but the conductor isn't really helping the band and there is a distinct lack of rhythmical interest throughout. The performance never really gets going and it should feel edgy and vital... this is too squeaky clean and a little boring... ref percussionists faces!

I really like the choice on shepherds hey to play that ending where you're suppose to, "quicken bit by bit", as a slow intro.

Looking at the percussion part for both of these pieces right now (from IMSLP - imslp.org/wiki/Irish_Tune_from_County_Derry_(Grainger,_Percy) ), and percs are tacet throughout the entire Irish Tune.
