Good plan; I like to use a more solid jab from a bit more range-snap it in, then a slight left step out and a little forward to cut the distance , then you are in a great hooking position with a few other options in play.

not sure why this combo with the straight to the body followed by the hook to the head lands so often, yet it does
@Shadowboxr0
@Shadowboxr0 Ай бұрын
For sure you have to prepare your opponent to be able to punch that combination. But when you have him in the corner, it’s a great way to test his defence 👊 Good comment though

Hook to far from body leaving to much room. Trained boxer is catching you with a jab to the face.

I thought slips caused you to change level a lil or is that dips
@Shadowboxr0
@Shadowboxr0 Ай бұрын
Slipping is for dodging straight hands. Changing levels means adjusting your height by bending your knees a bit, to work to the head or body. So for example punching a jab to the head and a straight right to the body, contains a level change.

Maybe with a bag It can’t extend but if your fist is on someone’s face and u push threw I guarantee your arm will extend
@Shadowboxr0
@Shadowboxr0 Ай бұрын
That’s right bro. There I would focus more on the hip rotation. But also keep in mind that with explanations videos like this, I do the technique a little bit exaggerated, so everybody can notice whats happening. In more practical situations everything is obviously a bit discreetly and quicker.

Is that mask for breath control?
@Shadowboxr0
@Shadowboxr0 Ай бұрын
This is an altitude training mask. It’s designed to restrict airflow and simulate high-altitude conditions, which makes your lungs work harder. Training with it can help improve lung capacity, endurance, and overall breathing efficiency. It’s like taking your workout to a higher level without actually being at a high altitude!”

You don’t want to fully extend your arm you want to ack like you punch through the person
@Shadowboxr0

Yeah, Extending a 100% will hurt our elbows, but around 95% will destroy your target 💪🏻
@fireline8250
@fireline8250 Ай бұрын
@@Shadowboxr0no he means that when you don't fully extend (around 70% extension on contact) than you can punch into and through your target and the lunch will feel much harder to them when you do that.
@Shadowboxr0
@Shadowboxr0 Ай бұрын
Yeah, but punching on a heavy bag and with an opponent is different. Of course you don’t just wanna touch your opponent, you wanna punch through him. But if you only punch like this on a heavy bag, you won’t be able to mobilize your whole power.
@Erk212

“We cannot extend our arm” just step back bro stop being an idiot and you don’t need to rotate for a jab
@Shadowboxr0
@Shadowboxr0 Ай бұрын
If you punch a 1-2, most people make that step to the front, which then lets you end up to close to extend your arm.

Size matters like a mf. But also skill matters. It just depends. I can hit pretty hard for my size. Ive been hut a lot harder than j can throw though.
@Dog.mentality

I mean kind of. You can certainly punch much harder if you’re strong and explosive than a small guy who knows technique. The difference is iq, distance, speed, timing and grappling.
@ethan_bodybuilder
@ethan_bodybuilder 2 ай бұрын
You can learn to strike much harder than a bigger dude that has poor technique, which I'd assume is most
@Dog.mentality
@Dog.mentality 2 ай бұрын
Incorrect. With enough difference in strength, a strong guy can easily wind up a punch and punch stronger than a small guy even with a lifetime of training. That is physics. For example, Eddie Hall at one time had the record for the hardest punch ever with minimal training. You can imagine that most people at 150 lbs with 5 years training in striking would not punch harder than a 250 lb powerlifter with 5 months training.
