there are currently no pros to move here. Tax is very high, violent crime rates have gone up 30% in the last year or so thanks to all the brazilians and indians and pakistanis and afghans who enter the country illegaly due to our great politic. You go to lisbon you think you are in Afghanistan, you go to Braga you think you are in Brazil, in Porto you are in africa or in romania, in algarve you are in the UK and besides those places it is a dead country with nothing to do. If you have a few hundred grand or a few millions sure, move to portugal, build a house and live here freely until your last days but if you are not free financially or able to work from here for another country, I would not recommend anyone to move here. There is a reason why more than half of our citizens are old people. There are no opportunities for the young people so they all leave.

You are giving the public transportation system way to much credit. The "flaws" in the system are extreme and the cost is very high. As a German citizen I cannot see the long term benefits of the red tape. It just makes everything more complicated, slower and more expensive. To the point that constructing new buildings has become nearly impossible and the companies are getting grinded to a halt. Germany could have a far higher living standard w/o the red tape burden.
