Glenn really needs to release a live album to celebrate this tour. I'm sure he has some great performances recorded directly from the mixing console. The shows in Brazil would be a good start! Unbelievable audience response. I know he wouldn't want to step on the toes of brother David Coverdale, who released "The Purple Album." But it can't be denied that Glenn's performances of the same material excel.

O incrível poder & majestade desse TONE nunca tinha sido ouvido antes, e ele teria uma cadela de um tempo replicando-o no estúdio para o álbum "Whitesnake/1987/Serpens Albus". Mas ele pregou tão bem que intimidou a merda de David Coverdale, que demitiu Sykes e contratou um par de guitarristas do elenco central para imitar o trabalho de Sykes em turnê e MTV sem aquecer-lo. Chega de olhar "humildemente" enquanto Sykes ganhou os holofotes. suspirar! Eu daria meu testículo certo para ver uma versão de primeira geração de alta qualidade deste desempenho, que NÃO é o mesmo show que outros carregaram no KZbin até agora. Rock In Rio 1985 definitely was the Apotheosis of uberchopsmeister John Sykes. The awesome power & majesty of that TONE had never been heard before, and he would have a bitch of a time replicating it in the studio for the "Whitesnake/1987/Serpens Albus" album. But he nailed it he so well that it intimidated the shit of David Coverdale, who fired Sykes and hired a couple of guitarists from central casting to mime to Sykes's work on tour and MTV without upstaging him. No more looking "meekly on" while Sykes got the spotlight. Sigh! I'd give my right testicle to see a high-quality, first-generation version of THIS performance, which is NOT the same show others have uploaded to KZbin thus far. My congratulations NICKNCM1998 YT CHANNEL for recording and editing the show, when would I go back to watch Deep Durple again through glenn hughes he brought with him to Brazil a band with some excellent guys in rock and roll, the keyboardist's organ is a rarity like Jon Lord. ..great show held here in BRAZIL ... there was no show like rock in rio from the 80s ... great GLENN HUGHES, life away from this man and a lot of peace..great shown

Coverdale's voice is better than in the first gig where he was rusty. A fantastic lineup, probably the most powerful version ever to appear as Whitesnake, even counting Donington 1990. Sykes is two guitarists on his own. Breaking up that lineup was the biggest mistake DC ever made. Cozy left because he'd had enough, and John and Neil got fired for fuck knows why. With respect to the late Mel Galley, Whitesnake were better with only Sykes on guitar. Now with David's voice shot and Cozy departed we will never see a reunion, but Sykes at least deserved his share of the glory on the 1987 tour, instead we had a band of mercenaries going through the motions. Campbell, Vandenberg and Vai are all brilliant, but they weren't John Sykes.
