Thanks AMK i had the previous model and it also leak for me right out of the box, thanksfully the dealer got me my money back right away! I feel no need to test this new model it enough to watch you handle it to see it´s too awkvard and painful to operate... But i still stand behind aqual when it comes to their internal filters, they are really good espacilly the turbo serie and it´s very very quiet and has room for a lot of media.

i hate to say it but i get the same water clarity from a homade 3 stage filter system that cost me $300 and filters 4000 gallons per hour and cleared my pond up in a couple of days. i think this filter looks great, but for $2400?? i will stick to my diy filter for $300

The water didn’t turn out that way because the Fluval broke and didn’t work for a day. Most bacteria is in the tank. External filters are most for mechanical filtration.

I think your leak was in the prefilter. I have never had the lid pop loose on the prefilter compartment in 3 years. I DO HAVE a reduced (and reducing) flow rate.

After using the pond vacuum, shall I bbe concerned about the amount of drained water when refilling the pond using declordinater keeping the KOI safe?

Came again to watch it for the 5th time . Bought the eheim 2217. I have made a diy 4 litre fluidized k1 filter as prefilter for this. It will catch all the sand ,disintegrate the big detritus . Thanks aquamanknox.

Recently purchased this for a 75 gallon tank the outtake I great but I feel the intake takes nothing in. Like a see things floating next to the intake and just float by without being sucked in. I also bought a prefilter to extend the intake are however no improvement. Am I doing anything wrong?

I think in my video I said come with extension but they are available. Sorry about that. Turn the light on when you want it on and then set the time length you want and add moonlight if you want. It will sunrise and set at the time you turned it on each day. Does that make sense? Example. At 6 am you turn it on and set it for length you want of the choices. It will do that again on its own 6 am next day. The CRI is awesome and the color and growth. I have 6 of these now running on my personal tanks. Let me know if you have more questions.

Hey Ralph, you just sold me one of these yesterday, and love the light, but I'm not sold on the timer. Documentation talks about a 24 hour timer, but it seems that its something that needs to be turned on manually every day and set to a number of hours, or does it actually have an internal clock that will make it follow the same routine the next day? If it does have a clock, what happens if we manually change things during the day, does it break the program or does it resume at the next interval (for example when its time to transition to night mode)? What happens if power is lost? If this timer proves inadeqate, do you know if there is a compatible timer that is more feature rich? Also, ours did not come with an extension cable, are those still supposed to come with them?

Oase is making some good stuff. I recently purchased a Biomaster Thermo 350 for my aquarium. I like the quality so much I decided to order the tubing/250 gph pump kit for water changes.

I bought one in 2007, now it’s still running, 7/24 non stopping. It does the job and is super quiet. I love my EHEIM 2217!
