I think you could also incorporate anti-white supremacy into the message as well, after all the protagonists are "robots of color" while the antagonists are monochromatic lookalikes. Yes this is just basic visual story telling, but i think it fits.

“How bad can I be” is a song about the Onceler not realizing the wider impact of his actions. As a song, it fits the movies version of the character better, but doesn’t fit the overall message as well as the cut song. “Biggering” is a song about the Onceler being fully aware that he’s hurting more than just the trees, but he doesn’t care. It’s a song about how greed can consume people, and destroy the future. The song fits the moral and theme so well, but has one major issue: it really doesn’t work with the movies Onceler without more setup. There’d have to be about 5-10 more minutes of flashbacks in the movie to transition from compassionate young man, to the head of a destructive company.

Now, THIS is a wonderful review for this film. Left room for creative license, understood the point of the little girl, and understands that the stories are both pretty open ended. Both leaving room for hope. I'd love to see your thoughts on The Last Unicorn if you have the time. (This video is also so much better than Animat's)

I agree and disagree. It feels like you blame capitalism specifically at certain points in the video and that being a capitalist it makes you this bad person and in this case you are right about a person who happens to be a capitalist committing executive greed and lack of carness but I would argue it has less to do with capitalism being bad and more to do with radical greedy industrialization as seen in the the story with the huge focus on the negative effects to the environment as the animals end up injured and poisoned by the by products of the heavy machinery and equipment working without rest.

I wonder what legacy this will leave. Owl House is over now. Amphibia was a thing around the same time as this show, with similar style and probably themes (i didn't watch it). Maybe one day a gay background character will show up and it'll just be that. It won't need to be a message against the norm, just a choice to include something in the background for flavor.

"Barbie and the magic of pegasus" AND Barbie in a "Christmas Carol" are the most "outside the curve" and darkest in the extensive universe of Barbie films, and my favorites! ☁️⛄🤲🏻 (I keep my eyes very focused when it comes to them, Mattel Could be extended further, make a spin-off, prequel...)

If it's something physical fair enough and if what you are describing is chronic fatigue that's a tough one. But it's something personal or an issue with being creative and artistic, I will give you the brutal honest truth about burnout and all these youtuber's describing burnout: it's because they have no true love for something creative or they are creating stuff which they know is meaningless. O yes it will entertain, it will amuse and it will pass the time- but true creativity and true artistry is hard work which drains the body and the mind. True art is about revealing something in this world or describing something about God's creation. It's about going in deep and getting lost in the sauce, it's about practice and getting good at something. If you go into because of infatuation or emulation of others it will start feeling empty and meaningless. The views, the popularity and the money are feel good factors, but the truer one is to oneself the quicker one feels emptiness, dissatisfaction and burnout with being creative. Calling youtubers creative or even being called "content creators" is one of the best jokes going, believe me the creative side of KZbin died out sometime in the 2010s, and its heyday was the 2000s. The Wild West of KZbin has been tamed and the number of truly creative KZbin channels, which either bring something new to the table or really make you think, can be counted by the fingers of your hands. I will also say this: create something when you hate it and when you think it's not right. If it's popular and rakes in the views just keep going. Creativity is a throw-something-into-the-wall-until-it-sticks approach but if you get more views and more money who cares if the quality varies? Sometimes you will hit a winning streak or hit the motherlode. If there is unfinished business and you want to create more videos then keeping going- you can always return to older videos later and make it better. Besides if the channel really did take off and that sweet, sweet ad-revenue and patreon donations came trickling in, that's more money to pay for bills, to buy stuff, heck to buy a new house or to get so much you can retire on it. Monetary security is peace of mind and may even help that fatigue of yours. Finally stop worrying about climate change and all these analytical fears- nuclear weapons are ready and waiting to wipe out America, Europe and Russia ever since the 1950s, a powerful solar storm could knock out the electrical grid and we go into Mad Max territory, the debt market blows up and hyperinflation and mass unemployment occurs, a virus could spread that kills hundreds of millions of people, etc. etc. etc. The time to fear such big things is when they happen- so why cripple oneself with fear or fret over the morality of it all. Live, make videos, and worry more about the harm one does to oneself and others. Live!

I used to watch this movie a lot when I was a kid and would physically get this feeling in my stomach whenever I watched it but I never knew what it was. But now that I’m older, it makes so much more sense. It’s because it wasn’t your Disney dream where the guy and girl immediately love each other and live happily ever after in royalty and they say like 20 lines to each other. No Anastasia was different because both characters aren’t perfect and they actually get to bond with each other and don’t have the dreamy love but they go through a trial. They really loved each other for who they are. It was just so beautiful. That’s why it’s different

Well, it was still about nature vs industrial capitalism, but it used the onceler and the lorax to represent their previous sides. They once worked together in symbiosis until the onceler grew far too greedy and started to destroy what made him rich in the first place.

Oh wow. I had this on VHS and haven't seen it in forever. I saw it maaany times as a kid, but the only scenes I remember (until this video) were when Stella drank and became a starfish, and the villain becoming ''human''. And the mood of an eerie perpetual sunset. Thanks for the reminder! I have to see it again!
