Hello. Firstly: thanks for the awesome cheer, means a lot. Accommodation: We can't really comment on which is better as, out of those, we have only stayed at the W (which was great). The Away Hotel looks like it is in a top location in the middle of both world as you can walk to Gado Gado for a wonderful day at the beach on day beds whilst drinking cocktails, you can walk to Kuta which is full of life or shop til you drop in Legian and surrounds. If it is for shopping and restaurants, stay close to Seminyak Square, otherwise I would stay close to Gado Gado. Hope this helps, enjoy your travels. Sam and Mich. We love everything about Kuta beach except for sellers, but, they don't seem to come up to us much or hang around for long. I guess that we have that " been here for a long-time vibe about us". If you are going to Sanur - access our homepage as we have lots of videos there that cover things to do, places to eat, nightlife and shopping. Enjoy your travels.

We literally have friends who are still reluctant to stay in Kuta even though we tell them otherwise. It's hard for people to overcome years of bad publicity and negative comments about Kuta from people who have never stayed there or remember it from 1985. Hi Bruce. We spent 6 weeks in Lombok (Late 2023) and will be back there again around Nov this year. We have spent considerable time in Indonesia over the past two years and will be settling there in the not to distant future.

I prefer Kuta for many reasons - easier access to beach, more roads and laneways to access (exploring), it is all round cheaper, way more shopping and has more diversity of culture (you can literally sit and watch people from all walks of life passing by). Kuta really does have a great energy. BUT - If you are after high end western dining and awesome nightlife, then Seminyak is your go to (you just miss out on all that Kuta has to offer). Sorry about that. We do try to do a mix. Consider,10,000 Rupiah is $1 Aussie dollar, (100,000 is 10 Aussie etc) - so a pretty easy conversion. But, when I used to research Americans in China or other places - I always had the conversion app open on my phone.

There are Telcomsel providers all over. Often in pop up booths or specific shops. Ask at your hotel and they will point you in the right direction - but, recently I have purchased at Airport, a few extra $ but much easier and instant. TIP: tell the seller you want data only, they always try to sell you data and phone which is not needed as everyone uses Wattsapp to communicate. Hope this helps.

Hi Matthew. Glad the videos are helping and thanks for reaching out. Both the WISE and HSBC cards are great, even many street shops are now accepting cards. You can't go wrong with either of them, but, yes, - most machines won't let you withdraw more than $200 at a time, but, you can do it over and over (no daily limit). Lastly - who really needs cash when you can swipe everywhere. Enjoy you travels.

We assume that you can use a US card, but there is way more safety in using either a WISE or HSBC travel card. Use an app to transfer money into them, a few hundred at a time, and if it gets lost or scammed, you don't loose much.

All are on top of Beachwalk shopping mall.
