FINALLY! good God, I have been suffering from this beeping for months. Mine is a LG GR207QLR model and I have to remove the whole panel with a screwdriver, dismount the covering PCB and remove this black beeper. Holy cow, PEACE AT LAST!! Thank you very much for your video!

Hi, this worked for my model with the side by side door in door newer model. You can tell Josh from Quick Fix Appliance in Atlanta to go to hell bc he wanted me to replace the entire door for $900 plus shipping and it’s on back order. I fixed it all by myself with your help. My husband, my dad and repairman couldn’t even find the solution. Thankful I found your video after much digging.

The root cause of this is energy savings guidelines where consumers literally are not allowed to disable this type of thing. The beep is supposed to change your behavior so that you close the fridge and save a few pennies of energy a year. Let me configure the door open alarm at 5 minutes and I am happy. Same goes for the engine cutoff when your car is stopped at a light. Don't want that ever. Same goes for the stupid trickle of water from your kitchen faucet. It isn't like I am not going to use the same amount of water. I don't want to waste energy but don't want to waste me time either. We need to fight back against these strict energy savings guidelines.

LG GR-P157NIS - Side by Side Refrigerator with Indoor Ice Maker **Buzzer Sound Mute mode** Will set the buzzer/beep/error/ding/alarm sound to "off" ​ Press and hold the "Express FRZ" button for more than 5 seconds (you will hear a beep, the final beep!), and Mute mode is active until the next reset. You can unmute with another 5 second press on the "Express FRZ" button. ​Perhaps your model has the same or similar. I found this info in the Service manual and not in the user manual.

I followed this with my Samsung refrigerator. It worked but was slightly different format for instructions, the alarm was similar looking but I had to unscrew more parts, just a plastic cover over the alarm, not enough of a difference to deter me from trying. Finally no more beeping!! I cannot thank you enough!!

Mine is beeping and the inside lights are staying on all the time :) It will kill the beep but those lights :( its some faulty door switch and there are many of those and don't know which one is the bad one...grrrrr
