A chain hoist??? How bout a strap hoist?

Why do these schools always have guys use chain hoists.....its not something you would do if it's energized so why even show them that.

On the last one you never put your safety back on your smart end of your hoist where you have it hooked to your nylon sling

oh and in real life, that's going to be energized, so that set up won't work..with that many bells I imagine it's not 4kv and if it is practice in your primary's, stay calm and remember it's all about positioning

just a tip ..always try to put your smart end of the hoist away from your work so it's not in your way makes life way more easy...

I appreciate the hard work a lineman does. Being one myself for 15 years before a pole snapped on me...another story, but the safety instilled today is remarkable. I was a lineman in the early 70's and seeing some of the safety equipment and practices today simply amazes me.
