Great overview for beginners. However I wish you would have clarified in more detail the differences between pathtracing and raytracing.

So basically I can't use Ray Tracing Reflections in UE 5.4? Will they at least fix it in the next updates?
@TheUnrealForge8 күн бұрын
They won't add ray tracing in future. But yes Lumen have accurate reflection in latest version of Unreal Engine. It's improving day by day.

@@TheUnrealForge I mean I just want to use Hardware Ray Tracing. I want my games to have RTX. How can I do it in 5.4? I already configured everything in 5.3 but after upgrading to 5.4, the reflections don't work anymore. Can't downgrade the version too bc there was a plugin that did not work for the old version

Good day. Tell me why, after all the settings my program crashes and this error appears. GPU Crashed or D3D Device Removed. Check log for GPU state information. A GPU mini dump was be saved in the Logs folder.
@TheUnrealForge21 күн бұрын
Maybe your GPU is not strong enough to handle that many samples. Decrease the samples and keep nvidia drivers up to date and use stable studio drivers not latest one according to your GPU.

@TheUnrealForge23 күн бұрын
It depends what Unreal Engine you're using. 5.3 won't show any errors. 5.4 or 5.5 will give you errors. And reinstalling all the blenders add-ons can help. But you have to remove old add-ons because you installed them for another version of the blender.

Thanks for sharing! Skeptical however on the last tip kzbin.info/www/bejne/f6PYaq2Km7ODl6M Could you explain how object scale affects render time?
@TheUnrealForgeАй бұрын
Because there's not too much lighting hitting on a small surface. And you can decrease the size of post process volume. Don't keep it unbound, just use the scale of the post process volume. It's very useful in most cases.
