Wrong! Don't tear the backing paper off at all, level it in tact. This way you never dig for a corner to peel back and you never worry about picking up a thousand different pieces of paper.
@MakeThyselfUsefulАй бұрын
That’s a solid idea. You can also trim it so you’re not dealing with 50’ of wax paper.
@WORDversesWORLDАй бұрын
@@MakeThyselfUseful Yeah, it definitely depends on the job at hand. If you're standing still wrapping pipe it's easier to handle versus crawling in an attic that's for sure. Regardless, picking up a few larger pieces is way better than pick up a thousand small pieces.
@MakeThyselfUsefulАй бұрын
@@WORDversesWORLD Agree. I learned very quickly how annoying it was to pick up all those small pieces of backing 😅

As someone who’s had 0 years of HVAC experience, I got it done 😅

You pre cut the tape which means you already spent the time it would take you to cut while you are applying the tape.
@MakeThyselfUsefulАй бұрын
@@robertking7584 true, but the majority of the time spent was the peeling off of the back of the tape after cutting it. The wax backing had no easy-peel tab

Wow a fresh hack that I haven't seen before and would actually be useful.

I had a hard time remembering that in the moment 😂

That is WAY faster! I probably would have spent 5-10 minutes doing it the regular way a nd getting frustrated at the same time. I can also see myself being able to wear gloves after peeling the first piece.

I’ve definitely cut myself with HVAC tape 😂 good call

Just a suggestion, why just not dropping the whole thing down and cleaning up the mess on the ground instead? I did many removals before and I believe you could have saved a ton of times, but eh, you got er done.
@MakeThyselfUseful2 ай бұрын
I think you’re right. Probably would have been safer as well 😁 we got it done though. Thankfully I wasn’t on the clock but we managed to get all the work done in a few hours anyway.

Excellent efficiency by laying out the screws first - you're better off with the regular (quieter) drill driver instead of impact (maybe even faster) Looks like the left set of King/Jack studs are off level!?!?

Everything is level haha. I think it looks un-level because I use the wide angle camera 😂
