just started big project with white European oak little bit of learning curve.. 10mill house

Similar story here. I recently turned on our Pioneer front of the house unit (both front and back units are 3 head multi-zone) and got a P6 error code. Called my HVAC guy who did the installation and he found a pinhole leak in the copper tubing of the reversing valve outside. The warranty covered the part, but the labor and recharging of the unit cost $850. The unit is less than 2 years old. We'll see how long these units go before another repair call, but I'm not happy. Pioneer's warranty even says that because their units are tested at the factory, they will not cover leaks once it leaves the factory. I emailed the company expressing my dissatisfaction and never got a reply.

Tooooo good

Warranty terms are clear when you purchased the unit. You decided to save the installation cost and wave the warranty by installing yourself. This is a you problem not a Vendor problem. You need to live with it.

How’s it held up and how’s the battery life?
@designcreationswoodworking96315 күн бұрын
I have run that one for several hours with no issues. I throw it on the charger when I am done. There is a power indicator on the unit so you can see battery level.

I wouldn't expect a 3600 BTU AC to cool anything more than a small bathroom. Installing it above the rollup door was also a bad idea.
@designcreationswoodworking9634 ай бұрын
Interesting since a 5 ton cools a 2400sf house and this is a 600 sf building. A 36,000 BTU AC unit is the same as a 3-ton unit. In the HVAC field, a “ton” refers to the amount of heat an AC unit can remove from a space in one hour, which is equivalent to 12,000 BTUs
@2023DGGT4 ай бұрын
@@designcreationswoodworking963 36,000 BTU yes, 3600 BTU no (read your description). 36k is also way to big for a 600sqft shop. I just put a 18k Pioneer unit in my 700sqft garage (in a location much hotter and more humid than anywhere in Texas) and it works flawlessly. The location of the air handler is also just cooling the hot rollup door and the 100 degree heating rising from it. How hot does that door get, my garage door was reaching 110 degrees F; radiant barrier on the door dropped that by 20 degrees. The AC can only cool the incoming air 16-22 degrees so if the incoming air is over 100 degrees, you will be lucky to cool the room to 80 degrees. You also have no insulation anywhere in the shop. Oversized AC units short cycle and you probably ran it continuously for 2 years straight to avoid the short cycling. Consumer AC systems are not designed to run under a continuous duty cycle. The Daikin will not last long under those conditions either. How is incorrect sizing, improper location and improperly prepped room the fault of the actual AC system? Then you compare it to a unit that is 5x the price!

thanks for the video! you must have used Arm R Seal? How does this compare in terms of feel and aesthetics?
@designcreationswoodworking9634 ай бұрын
Doesn't compare at all. Arm R seal is a wipeing varnish wich is basicaly thinned poly. This is a bit different in the way it binds with the fibers and is far more durable.

Having a beard reduces the filtration efficiency. However some filtration is better than none, but you need to be aware of this fact. You are at higher risk when you have a beard.
@designcreationswoodworking9637 ай бұрын
Short facial hair, such as stubble or a light beard, can still allow a dust mask to adequately seal to filter harmful particulates due to the design of the mask. Most dust masks, like N95 respirators, have a flexible nose bridge and adjustable straps that allow for a snug fit against the face. This tight seal helps prevent particles from bypassing the filtration system, even with minimal facial hair. However, longer or thicker facial hair may interfere with the seal, reducing the effectiveness of the mask. Knowing how to test the effectiveness of the seal is important regardless of facial hair length. Not new to any of this.

A jig with clamps to secure the work piece would be a much safer way of routing this piece. Your hands would be much further from the bit, and you would have a much more secure grip of the work piece.

Would you recommend their bench or do you think you could have gotten a better one for the price with the same set up on the bench ?
@designcreationswoodworking9638 ай бұрын
I would still recommend the bench for the price. It has a deeper incline than my older bench and it works great with the attachments I bought it for. I just ordered bigger wheels online and that makes it much easier to move around.

Price. The plus was considerably cheaper and had all the features I wanted. I don't mind the plastic pulleys. the equipment that this replaced had plastic pullies on the lat machine and we used them regularly since buying it in 1987 so I am not worried about them wearing out.

@designcreationswoodworking96310 ай бұрын
yeah, I get it but this is a working furniture shop and the videos are basic. There are absolutely no plans to become a production like some of the more popular channels that are focused on content and not as much on full-time furniture building. We don't have fancy equipment and the editing skills are minimal. We will continue to focus on what we are good at and share some video clips along the way as we are able. Thank you for the input.

Yeah, I get it but this is a working furniture shop, not a production studio. The equipment used here as well as the editing skills are basic. We have no intention of becoming a video production operation like a lot of woodworking channels you see. Most of those don't do commission work and produce video full-time with full crews and lighting. Plenty of other channels you can watch for that. We are busy building furniture. Thanks for your input.

it sounds like you weren't actually talking to Pioneer. Reason I say this is that you can call pioneer, and usually one of the Chinese sellers (stores) always ask for pictures, even of things that a picture would not make any sense. I called Pioneer (in Florida) and was helped with what info I needed. Would like more info on who you bought it from, and why they didn't warranty it if it was clearly inside the warranty. Thanks.
